Betrayal in core game is a disaster.
The overall approach I think is fine--not a fan of the scarab nerfs, but the encounter rates seem not too bad at least compared to the naive rates from the Betrayal stats. With the new Master rates it's what, 8% chance to find Syndicate stuff at random and 4% chance to get an atlas objective? So a bit less than 12% chance per map to proc a Syndicate *something*. That's a little better than the 1/9 chance for Research and ~halved for Intervention, but you get both every time it procs. The shitty safehouses will actually be the ones you get the least, funny enough.
EDIT: Though I realise it might be more like 10% because you can't find the random encounter when running an objective, but whatever. Last edited by dummyacct7#0565 on Feb 22, 2019, 3:25:17 AM

The only problem i see with betrayal is how intrusive + dangerous it is. Especially when fucking some vorici or something spawns out of nowhere and is completely impossible to escape from to get a second to use tactics.
The final fight also sucks, but that's only because it takes so long to unlock and the mechanics are so retarded that nearly anyone who doesn't play an op build just dies and it disappears. That can be addressed. Intrusiveness can be addressed too, if they fix that, then i think it's a great extra piece of content. Man it should almost be a map mod, well, ehem, that's probably a bad idea but it serves to illuminate what i think a problem is: it should not spawn randomly and mess you up, rather should be somewhat focused and/or a choice. We are probably more likely to simply see it reduced in spawn frequency which makes is less intrusive and then increase progress towards hideouts so they aren't too rare. That would be the GGG way - oh something is so annoying and destructive for many builds? Lets just make it more rare then we rarely have to face it and pretend when it's there is doesn't have the same problems. Fixed it for ya. patch with masters/hideout rework was ok. but from my point of view, betrayal league itself was a huge disaster, but it can be added to core with significant downgrades and adjustments, problem is i didnt get much fun fightning syndicate.
i played a bit, got two chars, 90 and 94, i was pretty satisfied with my hopeshredder roa scion, then got bored, maybe its me, i can assume that. absolutely broken from the start, overtuned, then nerfed, unbalanced, unrewarding for casual players who just like to map with average speed, not doing harbor bridge shit or low-level delve sulphite farm. as always, there is some cheese tactic that absolutely ruins the fun, because if you are not doing it that means you are at "disadvantage" to others. all league came down to cheese lvling to 100 with broken unbalanced league mechanics = breachstones. i cant fucking understand how was that going under the devs radar, did they even test anything before releasing the league. second thing i dont understand how the fuck are they proudly say that, wow, we had a new peak of players. that was only due to the diablo immortal epic fail, and then there was 50% loss of playerbase in 1 month. dead game bring back 3.13 Last edited by Tainted_Fate#2799 on Feb 22, 2019, 3:46:59 AM

>Blowing up 100 defenseless monsters with one tap. YAY so much fun!
>Syndicate can harm my hp bar. Boring mechanic, overpowered. Ugh. Syndicate fights and red beasts are only parts of content with balanced difficulty. Sadly. As for sulphite scarabs. Manifesto contains information only about Betrayal mechanics. I'm pretty sure this move is supposed to balance out some other change. Either base sulphite changes or synthesis league content. |

Or even with all this disaster nerfs and B goin core, Jun means
"Remember, we do this for Tencent!" I wish now we can kill Jun on first sight, and prevent whole B content to appear in further locations. |

I'm a little surprised about the postings in this thread. Everything fits perfectly to ggg's behavior in the last... hmmm... let's say 3 years. Of course betrayal will become some useless crap like all the other league mechanics that went core. Why would anyone expect something else?

" 1/ Fighting against old masters was fun, hard and deadly and rewards were good if you knwo what you are doing 2/ Unveils mods have some neat things to play with, but not if you dont try to unlock them 3/ Rush is the problem, time and patience will get you farther... 4/ Scarabes are good, and i have enough sulphite that i could ever spent on in one day. " This one shit is very special shit. When it comes to all other previous leagues, you can simple ignore them all, maybe except Labyrinth. Everything else have to be "triggered" or "entered" to play. So, you have to buy prophecy from Navali, click 3 times on on "essence" monster, run on Breach or Abyss, enter to Incursion or Delve. With Betreyal we received even two totally and unavoidable shit's - pokemon beasts and Syndicate attacks. Both of them can't be just ignored. You have to fight pokemons or resign map, as well like you will have to fight Syndicate, at least when there will be "intervention". And these freaks are strongest then any map boss, maybe except guardians and chase you on whole map, till you or them are dead. Very abusive add-on. |

" You can avoid packs with beasts inside but that means : 1/ you will not 100% clear the map 2/ Your build is maybe too weak to deal with those You can avoid syndicate encounters / escaping from assassins from intervention but that means : 1/ You will never fight the masterind 2/ you will never have all crafting mods 3/ You will never have scarabs unless trading and the price not worth it 4/ You will never have pure breachstones for an xp boost past level 95.
