Comparison Shots of Delve with Dx9 without Shadows and Dx11 with Shadows.

Decided to see how the game looked in Delve where shadows are turned on and off. Both have the same graphics settings minus the Shadows.

Fact: Dx11 runs better with shadows than Dx9 without.
Deliver pain exquisite
The game does look like crap without shadows. Now let us turn off hideous gore effects and persistent ground FX.

I would like the Dev/GGG to reconsider.

Also, how many players/clients are they going to affect with this implementation? How many players are using laptop or weaker system.

I specifically turn off shadow to maximized the FPS, at normal situation and abnormal situation (sudden lag etc).

I get about
91 fps max. (DX9ex)
61 fps max. (DX11)

By implement that, they are taking the options away from player, who want to maximized their FPS.

I am on the side of being able to turn off shadows. Turning it off maximizes FPS and helps alot with clarity especially in interior maps for people with vision problems.

More options on what casts what shadows would definitely help I think.

I run everything on ultra settings 4k on 40' screen, game has very vivid colors, but dark places are really darker than on medium settings, to the point I can't see anything. It's clearly seen on the DX11 bathhouse photo.

at least in the windowed view, I see no significant difference between the delve pictures, and the visibility in bathhouse* at dx11 is just ONE thing: STRESSING my eyes (yes, even with the screenshow at no-action!)

*) I dont even see what the darkness in this screenshot(any many other similar situations) has to do with shadows in the first place: there are NO things 'throwing' shadows, just lower lights. And further 'lowered lights' in situations where you already ARE on low sight (dungeons/cellars/crypt 'depths') are just DUMB

IDK if it's my monitor settings or something but since 3.5 the game is dark AF on DX11. It was just fine before the patch. INB4 turning the global illumination on didn't help and the post processing makes my eyes bleed.

We need more graphical settings, especially the ability to reduce the visual clusterfuck and flashiness of spells and effects. I'd rather have a game that looks like vanilla WoW but runs smoothly.

A necessary step. In 4.0 they are planning new character models and maybe new animation for them. To keep supporting XP and Vista (Dx9) is to shoot themselves in the foot. They can now focus more on making the game better, taking full advantage of what Dx11 (and in the future, maybe Dx12) has to offer, without spending resources, time and money on keeping Dx9 alive.

To keep the game compatible with old systems is a bottleneck. Easy as that.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
I'm sure they've "considered" and "re-considered" and came to the conclusion to remove the option. You'll have to ask them to "re-re-reconsider".
