Are you happy with the betrayal league so far?

Betrayal is fine and I killed everything including the end boss. No real complaints because I'm in softcore and I can shake off deaths. GGG does a good job - except for trading and even that I'm not as worried about as I was previously. Maybe I got beat down by GGG's firm stance, but after seeing the huge amount of flipping in the game I have come to the realization that perhaps they are correct.

Now, I do wish that they would reconsider SSF and provide a few mechanics special to only that league that would allow people to more easily get maps and unique jewels.
I see a lot of complaints that just don
I have had a blast playing this League. The Syndicate dialogue, the variety of encounters, the reward structure by making meaningful decisions when you kill each member that you encounter, learning how to make rivalries work in this situation, trust work in that situation, how to make members move from one safehouse to another, how to level up safehouse leaders consistently, what to do during map encounters for maximum effect... wooo!!! it has been absolutely fantastic!

Please make deeply immersive League mechanics like this the norm instead of boring breach-like pop-bubble type encounters.

Betrayal Syndicate voice acting is great. The whole alliance/betrayal gimmick is just too confusing to be fun so it's a total waste of time. That and the one-shotting mechanics to most builds is bullshit (just another defense check). Yes, nothing wrong with encounters, whether transports, strongholds, research, etc. But the clusterfuck of the battles and the uber-twitch reaction times required to do them is not worth the stress so I usually avoid them. Delving is still great although locking us out with the all too predicted low find rate of Niko to over-limit sulphite to keep us out of the mine is another fail. Then with GGG still keeping the red maps drop rates too rare to be sustainable that is the crown of the league failures.

On the plus side some of the new skills such as Tectonic Slam, the Brands, Winter Orb, etc. are a blast to play. Running the 10 acts has never been easier (too easy). As a filthy casual to say that the 10 acts are too easy means power creep is way, way out of control.
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

I like Betrayal so much that I started playing Diablo 3 again...

Seriously, Delve was way more fun for me.
Far too much micromanagement.
The more Poe become some kind of other stuff simulator preventing me from just killing mobs the less i play.

Yes i am indeed very happy with it.
I was excited for it before the release and then when it came i pretty much skiped 2 out of the 3 months its been here. or is it 3 months already ?
ive been playing the last 2 weeks basicly maping here and there and ignoring the sandokan membership most of the time.
It is basicly even more RNG based bullshit in a game where we are already drowning in RNG. RNG in a game like poe is good but up to a certen point. and i think we are already past that point, everything is gated behind heavy rng. i dont think i like that.
The sandokan is a clusterfuck in everything it does, Visuals ? Random clusterfuck? Drops? Random Clusterfuck. Dificulty vs Reward ? Random Clusterfuck.
Its basicly better to do sandokan in lvl 60 areas. its more rewarding than doing them in the endgame maps etc...
Is it easy to get into Sandokan Membership and do the ''cards'' and ''build'' ur sandokan ? Nope. Why ? Becouse its a clusterfuck. its not intuitive its tidious, theres no explanation given in how to ''build'' it and i dont see how a new player can get into it and like it.
Its not hard, its anoying, it anoys me. i dont want to touch it.
Oh, it can also 1 shot you in t2 maps out of nowere. Genious design.
I dont know if ggg is doing all of that in order to make people play longer into the league or why they are doing it like that. But for me its just a clusterfuck of random rng and bullshit mechanics. i dont like it at all, i hope it goes away and it does not stay into the core.
Yes and no.

My main excitement over betrayal had nothing to do with syndicate but the system overhaul.

The syndicate itself I don't hate but balance wise I still find off, particularly noticeable in red maps.

The system itself is so heavily influenced by rng that efficiency matters more. They add major potential for death the higher you get, but there's not a lot of incentive for the added risk. I've lost count of how many times I've simply left Jun just standing there waiting to kill someone because none of the options would result in a favorable outcome.

The scarabs were nice at first, but haven't felt particularly practical for continuous use given the values. So far, I could consistently make more farming syndicate than I could mapping with quality scarabs (and sextants etc).

With the overhaul, I'm hoping I won't have motivation to start fresh in a new league.
Yep, totally over league play.
Compared to Standard I like only the fresh economy. Hate the Syndicate, I haven't been so annoyed to a league mechanic since bestiary.
Good for you folks league is ending with the packs going first.
