ENOUGH IS ENOUGH WITH THESE TRADE ISSUES

Ok look, this is NOT a another AH post. However it absolutely addresses two key trade issues plaguing at it's CORE. Hopefully GGG will clarify on this and what they intend to do about these in the future: Orbs and Trade postings. If you're one of those "just go play SSF" for an answer guys then this post isn't for you.


Since closed beta till now the main issue with orbs has been the lack of being able to get them from the vendors. I.e. being able to get chaos, alchs, from vendors in the same manner as going from wisdom scrolls to fuses. I've asked Chris in global when he appeared once if we'd ever get this in game but he mentioned gems from vendors instead. You spend an excessive amount of time arguing/debating/ haggling over the value of an orb even before actually trading for items. *player item price setting is one thing to negotiate but it's another thing to have to deal with the value of currency itself* Very counterproductive to the "barter" system.

As for trade postings, there's a serious problem nowadays which is the lack of disabling standard item listings while sellers are actively playing in other leagues. IF the reasoning is to allow players the option to switch over for a quick sec to trade then why isn't there an option for them to turn on / off at will; their items and listings to appear when searching the forum? This causes a huge problem all around, cause it doesn't separate players that want to trade their items from those that are wanting to play leagues only; but trade their standard items between leagues only.


Something has to be done about this ASAP.

This leads to people posting stuff then they refuse to trade them or never responding! (not being afk though) Here's the typical scenario that currently happens right now! With Player A being the buyer and Player B being the seller:


Player A copy + pastes msg to Player B item listed on pathofexile.com/trade "hi I want to buy so and so item for xyz currency price listed" or if there's no price listed "what do you want / what are you asking for so and so item" from here one of the following happens...

1) Player B will respond, send the invite and the two complete the trade. Or negotiate what's needed if there's no price listed (i.e. no premium tabs bought) and go from there to either to trade or not trade.*** How trade is SUPPOSED to go. Simple agree, disagree, bargain, yes, no, i'll hold item till so and so, etc. ***

2) Player B will be respond mentioning they're currently in a map and to wait (which is cool) and after their done it's back to 1)


3) Player A will send a party invite, in case Player B wants to trade or to simply see if they're currently busy in a map or the lab and knows to wait till their done. (ok cool) Player B on the other hand will be silent, never responding no matter if they're in a map, lab or even just sitting in town or their ho (hideout).


4) Player B will suddenly put Player A on ignore for no reason but just for even being contacted in the first place about an item they posted. Unless you post some weird crap like I wanna buy your item (quill rain for this example) for 500 ex or something equally ridiculous. * btw only way to check to see if you haven't been ignored is to send a party invite since GGG doesn't have a notification of this if you msg a person*


Conclusion:

Bottomline this shit is crazy and has to stop. 3) and 4) have become entirely way too common nowadays. BTW this isn't even mentioning "lowballing" but simply buying an item for the PRICE ACTUALLY LISTED or asking them what is it THEY want or are looking for.


Yes, there are guys that do that dumb crap in trade chat like post an item (s) and at the end of their post put "offer or lowballers will be ignored" - this post isn't about them. Simply cause that's their freedom and most people typically laugh and brush past them not bothering to offer at all. (no sense wasting time pm'ing a guy cause he wants someone to offer 100 ex for a 10c item or so right?)

Since GGG obviously has never addressed people's post / request about unlimited ignore lists - possibly cause they "value" player interaction, then they really have to address this trade post issue and allow players to have a rating system among players strictly for trades OR turn disable post listings from people that don't want to trade while in opposite leagues or that just aren't serious about wanting to trade. That way it'll prevent time wasted and hostility.

Just quit the game and stop any supp pack purchases until they fix it. It's your fault right now for playing in that system if you don't like it.

Maybe that's cause this isn't a problem specifically with poe.trade. This is also a topic for general discussion among players on both ends of this and not simply some feedback /suggestion matter. Try reading it and thinking about it before just brushing it off and assuming it's some typical post about something that it isn't. Actual devs could benefit from seeing this to attempt making changes to the two issues mentioned.

There is. Uncheck the "public" box in your premium tabs. Does not work with forum listings, of course.

IMO this post is a veiled call for an AH or something much like it.

I see chaos/exhalt in this game more like silver/gold in real life. The prices of them fluctuates a lot.

Even if GGG add's a vendor 1 chaos for x jeweller's, the price is either too good or too bad, and no sane soul (aside Solo-self-found) will use it.

The same with chaos to exhalt, even if GGG says 100chaos is 1 exhalt (cent's to dollar's/euros etc) the only result will be most item will be priced in exhalts and nothing will really happen (equally as in the sellers are using their calculator/brain to adjust prices).

Still their will be an issue of mirror's........

now for the other part of having you tab's still active for standard.....
You do know you can turn each tab on/off right? (or is that option only available for legue's (which sound very odd to me)).

I admit I do want to see an form of up to 1 chaos AH myself, but above this haggling and having both parties hitting accept is actually needed, even in the form of premium tabs or forum post's.
Having to play the AH-game, because the drops will be much lower as the end result of an full blown AH will make this game a very boring game.

FYI all these things are fixed in the China realm where they have a running AH.
Why is this you say, well because that is what the owners demanded !!!

The trade API on both poe.trade and the official one is lagged pretty much the whole league already. It's not always there but when it is problems like this occur.

After message nr 20 I also ignore people who want to buy it. And if you spam me like you seem to do I will put you on ignore aswell.

They don't give a shit about trade, and honestly it almost seems like this is their way of making trade as frustrating as possible.

If the buyer starts spamming party invites without me responding to the trade message I instantly block the person. I'd rather lose out on a few chaos than having to deal with impatient people.
