Maelstrom of Chaos as alternative to current endgame
As noticed in hundreds of topics where people cannot handle,manage the upkeep of current map endgame or just plain bitch about it.
I propose to reimplement the maelstrom endless dungeon as an alternate way to play beyond the merciless difficulty cap. Myself and many other old time players preferred this endgame, although it was 'temporary'. It had many merits, and enjoyed by pretty much everybody. This should not replace the endgame map system in place, because that has also been made very well, and many people also enjoy that. Seeing as how there should be some cost to being able to play the highest level maps possible, and something to invest currency into, obviously leave current map system in place as is. Limit Maelstrom to start at 66 and end at 70 or even 72 as far as mob level goes. perhaps 2 maps at each level. Simply have the map altar send you to a random endgame map area at or a couple levels below the player's current level, with no mods or quality bonus, when used without a map. It's unacceptable to restrict the player's access to the endgame based on luck. Add a 15-minute timer to prevent players from spamming the altar to get a particular area type or to rush bosses.
I can't imagine why anyone would have a problem with this, unless they really believe that players should be locked out of the endgame for no fault of their own. The Amazon Basin: A Community of Friends Playing Games

I miss MoC so much but it would allow people to circumvent maps at some point. Map grinding just feels so... I mean whats the point in having to farm for your endgame, are they trying to stretch the amount of time they keep us playing. What is the rationale behind the abysmal drop rates on them? We are already high level and no other content helps us at that point...

To the people that are upset about map drop rates, why not just buy some maps for currency? I've never had a problem with lack of valuable drops / currency to the point that I wasn't able to run maps any time I wanted.
