Maelstrom of Chaos as alternative to current endgame

im tired of seeing the same stuff every time when i farm for maps

Anyone ever play disgaea? That had an amazing endgame. It revolves around entering a metaphysical reality 'inside' an item such as a weapon, piece of armour, even mundane objects. Each item(the rare items at least) had 100 randomly generated levels. Clearing a level increased the inherit values of the item.
Occasionally you may come across an aspect of the item which you can dominate. Doubling that associated attribute of the item. Also granting the ability to MOVE that attribute to a different item.
A high level items deeper levels became insanely difficult. A true challenge. Especially the final boss on level 100 which(if defeated) drops a similar item as the one currently inside..but one grade higher.
Something similar to this i think would work very well in PoE.

And having people 66+ being able to click on the Map-Altar, activating a random unmodified 66 map, even without a map once a day would be a welcome addition as well.

Something to do when you are out of maps.

I also welcome the addition of the Maelstrom as an alternative option.

What do you think would happen to the economy if lvl 75+ maps were worth as much as lower tier maps?

How do you think that would affect the value of ilvl 75+ gear?

I doubt Rob did.

Anyways, I'd love to see a choice for players and an implementation of the Maelstrom alongside the map system.

It is so irritating when "elitists" (not saying you are at all elite) come on the forums and think because they chose to have no life for weeks to get ahead, no way should anyone that comes after them have a different option then they do!

The value of gear is in it's mods, it shouldnt be and wasnt intended to be in the ilvl of the item, selling plain whites to people who havent been able to get the higher lvl maps yet. It is nothing but exploitation rather than a healthy market. Everyone is better off if everyone is farming top content, abundance of gear, cheaper prices.

I personally would love to see some more alternatives to endgame content

Of course there is always the option of buying maps for me as I am only in my 70's. However I am what you would call a "casual" player and have a hard enough time farming currency to gear up my character, then to spend that currency on maps.

This seriously needs consideration, though I also have a feeling that once they add more content and higher level maps and such that it might become less of an issue either way I am bumping this because I support it fully.
