Is syndicate grossly overtuned?

Already ripped my 74lvl and 65lvl ssf hc witches to the sindicate.. been clearing them with ease at some point where encounter became one shot..the skill was something coming from the ground like ice blades or smth and insta rip.. as a hardcore player sindicate is way too much to face it. Better leave them at laboratory where every instance spawns, safe to just dont get into sindicate league.

As hard as Diablo 1 ?

I'm literally just randomly choosing nodes with no real focus at all. Don't have a main attack gem, constantly have 10 passive points unspent, no ascendancy, 3 link armor, 3 link boots, 2 link helmet all self found gear. I dog walk those caravans and fortresses same with safehouse. I'm just now starting to have to play safe with them in Part II due to my ridiculously negative resistances. I have 6 deaths total on this character. 5 of which were Kitava and Avarius.

" Ah my sweet summer child. Check my gear (far from perfect but at 7K+ HP with 7 endu charges maxed res) and know that I get one shot by some of them. Not even avoidable telegraphed attacks, just auto attacks. Of course they are impacted by maps mobs but becase of that ccombo they can be insanely brutal. One tip I would recommend to everyone: when you get the option to remove their items USE IT EVERY TIME. That is wht makes them rippy. "Never argue with an idiot. They will take you down to their level and beat you trough experience." Last edited by Bone2flesh#0416 on Dec 13, 2018, 4:28:00 AM

Man those "game is way too ez" softcore players are so incredibly annoying -.-
Yeye, inb4 logout macro "arguing".... *sigh* Whoever thinks some of them are not overtuned is clearly in denial. |

Definitely feel like they are overturned in some respects. I haven't found the syndicate too hard to kill but what is frustrating is that so many have ridiculous one shot mechanics you can barely see or react to. In many instances I'm dashing around the map as per usual then I wander near the syndicate to trigger the event and a Tora or whoever shoots a tiny little arrow across the screen that hits me and one shots me.
Its very frustrating when you can blast through all tiers of map with your build quite easily and then get murdered by an incredibly fun but overtuned league mechanic all the time. I think they just need better signposting for one shot attacks that gives you a chance to get out the way and dodge it. Other than that I have been loving the league, my favourite so far. |

Yup, this is a BIG problem, but it stems from specific combinations of alliances and items the members have, which can guarantee insta-death especially for melee builds. In more than 2 years I've never died so much to inescapable mechanics on my Molten Striker (which is BiS gear and has tons of leech) however my Casters didn't have a problem. Upon further examination it was due to the items the allied Syndicate members had. During leveling, they were unsurvivable.
All that and a bag of chips!

please give us an opt out option for Bestiary & Betrayal .. nobody had to delve all day if they didnt want to, please give this same option.
For anyone thinking why not play standard, a lot of us gladly would if there was a sensible way to trade that didnt involve a 3 day mission for a new pair of boots Last edited by CamdenBoy#5292 on Dec 14, 2018, 1:12:52 PM

I am confused by the split in the community (which often occurs with new leagues) regarding a re-balance of Syndicate damage.
It seems to me the point of POE is to have many different paths/options for re-balancing your build. Thus, the responsibility is on the player to make adjustments or wholesale changes dependent upon the league dynamics. That's the beauty. If your hitting a wall with Syndicate then make changes to your build or change builds. Its why you roll a starter build, get to the point where you can flip recipes for ex's, and than make a plan. Right now, I'm a little squishy on T12-T15 maps to Syndicate depending upon affixes; thus, it has me changing my play style (especially with fortifications). I'm also considering some different gearing options for more "tankiness" when it comes to forts specifically. I think Betrayal has brought me back to POE at a committed level. Its been 2 or 3 leagues since I was this interested. Nerfs are not the solution for a game like this. Play with your build. Its what makes this game so great. |
