Is syndicate grossly overtuned?

Please reduce the damage they do. They should be on par with the area level that I'm doing. Currently, they are holding people back from doing what they are geared for.

Could I avoid them? Not exactly. We can't avoid assassins.

There really is no debate on this matter. The only people that would argue the fact that the Syndicate mobs need to be nerfed are people that just want to be smug about their spec / luck with gear.

Currently, while leveling, and getting into maps, the Syndicate are infuriatingly overpowered and just not fun.
Syndicates hit like a truck. Unfortunately it is sometimes better to skip the betrayal content in a map just to stay alive. They are very powerful compared to the reward.
Ground Slam, now and forever.
I see an opportunity for a streamer to show how to beat Syndicate with a non-meta build with unlucky gear.
Got to T13-T15 maps the fortication syndicate encounters are rediculously hard and the rewards almost never worthwhile.

They do have mechanics for sure, janus in particular, the issue is that one mistake is death and you need to basically dps them down for a good 60 seconds. It is absolutely unreasonable to expect a player to play better than vs shaper than vs a random ass syndicate on any mid rolled red map.

I'm also level 89 and have not encountered the mastermind even once.

Yea they become pretty nuts when you get to part 2. I'm having no trouble stomping everything around, and tanking the act bosses, and the betrayal things are 1 shotting me.
Groosly over tuned ..
I dont mind difficult content as long as its consistent, but the syndicate are so much tougher than any boss i've done so far T5 maps .. You run a map its easy .. you then run same map & have red beast / boss / syndicate all at once ...
Please just give us consistent content so we can judge the difficulty we want to play at.
Would have switched to standard already if there was a way to trade with others.

(edit)
Just did Leo 3 star / safe house / where he had 2 added mods, so it seems its in maps that main problem lies

I'd say badly tuned and i have few problems with it

1) i think difficulty ramps up too quickly and outpaces character power, the bosses seem unfairly hard in the 40-55 range or so. And while it's ok to have some NPCs stronger than others, because you can permanently eliminate them, Perandus and Tora stood out for most people.

2) The item that consumes corpses to heal is absolutely broken. I know there are options that allows you to remove items from NPCs but until you get that you're shut down completely for that specific activity. I got it on the transportation and after i failed 5-6 times i stopped trying, the amount of mobs summon in the fight makes the NPC wearing that item unmanageable. I was able to fight 3 NPCs at once in some cases but unable to kill the 1 with that item.

3) Lastly it's about the encounter design. It seems the syndicate members are supposed to be skill testing mechanical fights which work well in safehouses but are a complete mess out in the world.
They all have telegraphed attacks and visual ques on how to avoid their abilities but then you also have 50 mobs summoned all over the place every couple of seconds, with their own ground effects and those grey clouds that spawn phantoms which cover the whole area.
In the end YOU CAN'T SEE SHIT, this combination doesn't work, the screen is too cluttered to be able to identify the visual ques in order to not get one-shot.
I find syndicate members so brokenly overpowered, that i spent like 20 minutes googling if i can somehow completely disable them.

For example i want to do yellow tier 8 alched maps in order to complete atlas. I have no problem running pretty much any normal content on these maps, including bosses, its all a breeze. But every 20 minutes i get one shot by some syndicate encounter in such a manner that it has to be broken. Like one of them has some kind of pulsating yellowish ability that sticks to the ground and damages you in pulses; one of those pulses takes away like 80% of my life. And i have 4200 hp and 500 shield. And to make things even worse, ever since they started getting so rippy (around map tier 3 or 4) i started deleveling them, so they all i think level 1 now. Some of them alone are tougher than many tier 8 map bosses. And now imagine having to fight 3 of them.

Its basically broken. And im playing a highly optimized meta build (arc totel hierophant) and i have a pretty good clue about what im doing.

I can only imagine how this feels to someone who is a brand new player and manages to reach maps.

This league is giving me nightmare flashbacks to invasion where the league content is disgustingly over-tuned. I'm finding the average syndicate fight to be more difficult than most act bosses at the same level which just feels terrible. Not to mention all the visual clutter on screen making the fights extra hard to figure out what's happening.
Their damage does seem somewhat out of control--their tankiness I can kind of get. They seem tuned to be hard fights at their base stats and I've found them generally enjoyable as such, but they have the same problem as Delve bosses in that they're affected by Map mods. At this point I'm rolling Map mods based entirely on whether or not I think that I can take out Syndicate spawns with those mods--nothing else in the Map is even relevant by comparison.

Maybe they were made really strong at a base level so they wouldn't be completely useless in Safehouse encounters, but it can have the effect of making them extremely overtuned in Maps depending on the mods.

Oh and they're super overtuned during levelling, though this I didn't really mind because failing a cart escort here and there really wasn't a big deal and having an interesting challenge to overcome at those low levels was a fun change of pace. Intervention is definitely a bit much though as you can't really choose to avoid it since they just keep teleporting up your butt.
