Is syndicate grossly overtuned?

They are a lot easir than a 4xIntervention is the middle of a fight with a Red beast. In any case once you polish your gear a bit and with the condition you don't play a potato build they both should be fine.
"Never argue with an idiot. They will take you down to their level and beat you trough experience."
My lvl 81 SC (up to early yellow maps; a few fortification and transportation safehouses) observations:
1. As usual - early levels too hard - it should introduce (new and old players) to league content rather than offer pure frustration. Bad design. You have a sense of accomplishment (especially for ambush encounters) 'Hell, I am getting better, I used to die to them!', though
2. Necromancers overtuned
3. Fortifications activation time too short (that is only my suspicion - not really affected myself; it seems to me all builds that remain stationary by design, including channeling, are screwed)
4. Teamwork discouraged by league content; no league rewards for all team members

Also not on the league topic: masters rework - good job!
I think it is overtuned. But I have to admit that it is fun and challenging. Had no problems from lvl 1-5x, afterwards there was some rippy ganging going on. The burst is real. After I upgraded my defenses (22% block, 39% evasion, 3k life, 2k ES, max res, arctic armor, because channeling) early maps are less rippy. I still die every now and then to burst. But I feel I stand a chance now. I am now also much more careful with upgrading ranks and putting them into jail more frequently.

Still, the amount of points i had to throw in the passive tree to get the defenses up is ludicrous.

Heh we're talkin in like 5 threads, I love how interventions come at the greatest moments ever, like after opening a breach or an abyss and have no issue getting opened up like a can of sardines, it's the "unfairness" of the evidence that puts me off. Need to go faster I guess.
Second-class poe gamer
I'm still leveling and going slow - act 4 so far, SSF but softcore so I don't care about being stomped.

I'm using a certified shit skill, lancing steel. I missed one caravan so far, and died 1 time somewhere early in act 1. Raided 2 safe houses, no problem so far.

I wouldn't play this so reckless in HC, since I have close calls often, but it's working for melee and selffound stuff.

.

I died much more last season in the dark and behind the crawler getting cramped by a bottleneck, until I figured out how to run the dark. Had a body count of round about 20 until figured out what to do in the dark and what not to do.

Syndicate hits really hard, which by itself might not be a problem, if you could actually see WTF is going on and avoid attacks. The biggest problem is all the visual & design clutter. Esp. in fortification encounters - "everything is lava", shit spawning, balls, rays, explosions, small arena... and 3+ bosses hitting like a truck.

In impenetrable darkness
The only (obviously) 1shot ive encountered is the Haku one, who brought me down to near death. But it got a windup, which is pretty long. It that fled and Tora dealing fkton of ChaosDMG (nearly 1shot on red maps). If you get some ChaosRES they should be fine.
The "Ambush" mechanic, where they suddenly apearing out of thin air is okayish, could be actually worse. At least its not that bad like Cintiq, The Inescapable back in Invasion, who just Multistrike Flicker you to death, lol.
Welcome to the greatest of arenas, Duelist. God is watching you.

git gud my dudes
It's certainly hard, especially as a melee character during the story. But TOO hard? I don't think so. I like the danger. I like being forced to side-step, move, think.

It gets easier the further you get, it seems, when your gear and character starts to shine.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
tbh i only died once so far because of intervention, i didn't even notice i was fighting the guy and was checking new helmet :v i just destroy every member even to i made them all friends and always try to rank them up, that said i'am going for lazy cyclone build while being jugg.
