Path of Exile: Betrayal Patch Notes

couldn't care less of nerfs.

all those new players jumping out of their pyjamas, lol.

let papa vio explain you something: ggg never balances poe cause there is no balance possible in a game with so many parameters as poe has. except you put a hard cap on either the damage output of a player or the damage taken of a monster.

they ever did meta shifts to force players to look for other ways to do stupid amounts of damage.

in the words of our master and saviour chris, master fisherman of wraeclast: it's a bloody game, try to win.

so stop crying and start looking!

do you really think they will not take care of arc, blade vortex and poet's pen?

Cast On Critical Strike Support

Now has a cooldown of 0.15 seconds (down from 0.5 seconds).

It's been years but with this barrage cast on crit builds may be revived! My favorite build ever is coming back from the dead thanks GGG. :D

Also much hype having the new masters league and 3 older league mechanics should add a lot of variety to keep the game interesting in the late-game.

Bye Bye VD Builds :(

If you mean immune PF bullshit build then it's F good they did that. That shit should never happen to PoE and basically ruined any sense of pushing delve.

Generally happy with most of the changes. Radical but plausible.

Leaving poet's pen and arc untouched was surprising tho.

Now about the melee fiasco, melee was hit hard which is sad. However according to their twitter post:

The rare bow has '138% increased physical damage' local craftable mod, which translates to crazy crafting potential. So cheaply crafting formerly multi-exalts-worth GG 1h, or even 2h weapon will be possible I think?

A huge nerf, yes, but hopefully not the end of the world...

With no more 16%iiq on Sadima's touch, i have nothing left for me in this game. Cheers for the fun times leading up to this GGG 😘

Did you even read the patch notes? Maybe they will but not in, 3.5.0.

Quill rain nerf - This was necessary for many reasons. Quill rain can hit more than any other bow. Toxic rain and explosive arrow are not the only useful things. Cast on crit builds that focus spell damage needed something to stop quill rain from being the best bow for cast on crit builds in the end game.

It wasn't necessary - it was excessive. You could bypass the less weapon damage multiplier by setting up that didn't rely on the weapon damage primarily - now that the multiplier hits the final damage output I wouldn't even consider using it for its actual intended level range.

Indigon nerf - The cap was needed cause it was getting insane dps levels from experts. It still looks like the most powerful offensive spellcaster helmet, but now people have to use certain gameplay styles to get the insane amount of mana used to get near or at 2000% increased spell damage.

Did you even try building one yourself? Cutedog's setup was hitting headhunter territory.

I tried it myself for proof of concept. Even with several adjustments and versions tested, its just impractical for most players to hit those levels with an Indigon. Even at almost 5000 mana it wasn't particularly practical in rebuilding and maintaining the mana spent numbers. And I was testing against shaper guardians with mods, all vaaled.

I think 40% may have been too harsh for quill rain, but I am guessing they never intended it to be an end game weapon and that is why they are trying to take away its end game potential for most builds. I would like to see them make a unique bow around 2.2 aps max that had good COC options to compensate for quill rain loss for most COC builds. My pc is decent, but quill rain can push it too far sometimes and slowing down a little while still having the fast action would be fun.

I actually plan on using a bow COC build next round and I was planning on using quill rain unless I have to upgrade due to low dps. With indigon I should be able to get more mana used up and gained to max out indigons power when I use quill rains massive attack speed. It is a niche build that is probably not end game viable, but I just plan on having fun with it.

My mana numbers were probably exaggerated on deadeye. I was assuming level 23 split arrow. +2 arrows on split arrow enchant. Massive attack speed bonuses. 4 chains for 5 hits. That may not be survivable to use on end game content. I am more of a middle to low map content for fun player. But assuming I didn't do math wrong and you have right setup the indigon is still possible to max or almost max its dps potential on at least 1 build.

Also remember 500% spell damage only requires 4k mana spent in last 4 seconds now which is doable for any ascendancy class who knows what they are doing. I think we should hold off saying it is completely useless since no helmet has competed for top spellcaster dps for a long time.
