- didn't read the whole announcement
- don't realise this is an 8 year+ old design goal (lol Tencent?!)
- read the announcement but failed to understand the wording of the announcement

The negative comments are almost entirely from people with really bad literacy and/or numeracy skills. It's shocking. I suppose for some English isn't their first language but for others it's really embarrassing.

Compare the positive and negative comments, it's like pre and post lobotomy.

If you don't like it that's fine. This isn't the only announcement.

I'm currently reading the whole thing. I read the whole announcement. This is not the design goal from 8 years ago and you're all (fanboys) dim for thinking it is.

Yes they wanted something technically called this years ago. But the plan then was an entirely different thing. Pretending this has nothing to do with tencent is transparently deceptive if not delusional.

However, I think the net effect will be positive. Yes the leagues will lose players, but think about which ones.

All the tryhards? Sequestered in tryharder private leagues. All the streamer slaves? Sequestered in ego parade private leagues. All the yuppies with more money than sense? Private leagues. All the RMT bots chasing that money? Private leagues.

Results? Higher ration of decent normal sane people in SC league/standard.

Cautiously optimistic actually. Might end up calling this the chemotherapy league.

P.S. You no joke come off as untreated mentally ill with that self quoting. Specifically, narcissistic personality disorder. I've never seen anyone quote themselves like you do, and it's genuinely creepy.

Paid Leagues
In addition, we plan to allow guilds or groups of players to pay for the creation of their own league with a choice of game rule modifiers. Only players invited by the people who paid for the league can create characters in these private leagues. This option helps cater towards any groups of players who want to play online together but don’t want their playgroup to have access to items traded from external players.

This sounds a lot like what they are announcing now and that's 8 years old.

More seriously, not our fault they are so ruled by greed that offline modes are completely prohibited.

I've always marveled at how easily devs get away with crying workload to excuse greed, when patents and the like make it literally a crime to help them.

POE specifically is awful for that with the devknight brigade consistently pretending F2P is a charity and not a business model.

IMO feeling a strong need to directly type out your own name every time you speak, especially when you know the provenance of the comment is going to be labeled automatically, implies narcissism.

As if the possibility that we might forget his name is utterly unacceptable to him.

Also being totally oblivious to the standard practice of everyone else implies a pathological level of self focus.

To be clear this doesn't make him a bad person. I just felt like commenting on it because it was jarring. People can't learn without feedback. And I'm assuming he'd prefer people focus on his words, as opposed to a strange idiosyncratic forum practice.

Sidenote: I do "got problems." I'm diagnosed major depressive and generalized anxiety disorder. Our slur like use of a euphemisms for mental illness shames us. In the interests of avoiding blatant hypocrisy I'm not scolding you any more than myself. :)

I'm also addicted to this game and yet tightly constrained in how I play it. Perhaps that too is mental illness?
