Zerker on the bottom of the lists yet again.

You need to see the whole picture though. When GGG nerfs "the" most overpowered class, skill or item, players will come up with the "next" overpowered thing. GGG will nerf this, too - and so it continues.
It´s a history of nerfs and destruction.
Instead of accepting the fact that players WANT to be overpowered (...) and creating
- harder content
- more overpowered options
They just kill "the fun".
I was personally SO close to quitting the game several times because althoug I love poe and GGG (95% of it) I absolutely HATE their philosophy of nerfing things to a degree that they literally become completely ineffective.
They don´t just nerf them a little. They make sure no one uses them for a long time.

Balance is a constant struggle, but it's one that needs to be undertaken. GGG should be constantly reacting to what players discover is OP and game-breaking - you can't just accept broken builds and make harder content that's only suitable for them because that devalues the vast majority of options and choices in the game while leading to insane leaps in powercreep (the bar for an "average" build keeps going up astronomically). Non-meta builds are disadvantaged enough right now.

The philosophy you're embracing leads to a different sort of endless cycle just like the one you're talking about with nerfs, but instead its one of buffs that quickly makes the game and all our accomplishments in it meaningless and boring.

Where we agree, however, is that GGG seriously overnerfs things when they see something as too powerful. I want to emphasize that you and I are on the same side regarding that point because I have a feeling most players are with us.

While a cycling meta is OK in theory, if builds are nerfed to the point of uselessness it's just another manifestation of an artificial narrowing and shrinking of the game and its options. Stuff doesn't just get nerfed, it essentially gets removed from the game for anyone who knows what they're doing - and we're left with less options or forced into whatever new content they've released (which I guess is what they want, but it's insanely frustrating).

There are so many examples of GGG doing this with skills, gear, etc. it'd take me forever to list them. But Shimmeron is a good example: it was definitely being abused with dual wielding and totems/traps, but now it's utter crap and nobody uses it. There HAS to be some middle ground for stuff like this, even if it takes more time and care - or even some experimentation or asks for feedback from the community - on the part of GGG.

Back on topic: I'm eager to play a berserker in a future league (probably axes and sunder or ground slam, bc that combo seems fitting thematically), but I've been waiting until they fix the ascendancy so it has anything attractive going for it. Right now, I could play the same build I'm planning with jugg, champion, slayer, or even ascendant and get better results.
We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

doesn't that tell you whats gonna happen to these current builds?
Meta's been here for over 3-4 leagues hasn't been changing in awhile compared to that berserker dogshit build that everyone did? Than got nerfed shit not even nerfed but.

GGG took a shit on it right than get a dog to take a shit on it and at the same time a bunch of pidgeons took a shit at it at the same time.

DESTROYEED Berserker / Dark pact

What's your favorite type of build? Do you just kind of follow whats the strongest number wise or do you like to experiment? Still wondering what they're about to do to stat sticks and if they're going to fix anything if they do nerf it.
they need to revamp the dual wielding system. it is just far too superior and its rendering 2h weapons completely void. its also really hurting all skills that alternate weapons when dual wield attacking.

stat sticks obviously do not help the issue at all.

The thing we agree on is the only thing that actually matters here - for me and probably for you.
The "over nerfing attitude" is the problem we have to deal with. If GGG finds something that is "not working as intended" or "over powered" they swing the nerf bat way too hard.
A little less nerfs here, a little more buffs there and especially - and that´s what I was also talking about - a litte harder content here and there. Contant that can´t just be done pressing 2 buttons every 5 seconds. A time trial? A survival trial? An "uber breach" trial? I am happy with all of those.

Lol, there's a big anti stat stick circle jerk on reddit right now, if they get their way stat sticks will get dumpstered and everyone will be forced to run totems and traps next league for muh diversity.

Yay Reddit, where for some reason Dev's seem to respond and give more attention to versus there own forum....
Just got 100, first 100 Berserker in the history of SSF HC.

Now Inquisitor is the last class without a player being 100 in SSF hardcore not in default league or any other leauge.

Inquisitor is sooooooooo shit.
