The begining reveal of Delve showed a lot of good shit than the final product became dogshit.
When they tested the version of Delve we see an example of in the video, what made them scrap that version and go for what we have now?
" No, what we see here, is that the precious economy is more important than fun. Either that, or GGG thinks that if players have too much fun too early, they'll quit the league sooner than they would do if content is "stretch out". I think it's the other way around. At least for me. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Oct 4, 2018, 6:02:14 AM

I think the initial mine showed was a bit too excessive with rewards, if things come too easy with no investment, you lose part of the excitment of actually finding something good. why would you ever bother 'exploring' your mine if you just fall from one rewarding node to another, but the way the mine is now is too far in the other extreme, I haven't even managed to complete Delve encounters II yet because even what should be pretty basic nodes are soo incredibly rare that it is almost pointless looking for them and I have spent a good amount of time in the mine... heyho, some middle ground would be good

well GGG does have to balance the game around the average player. those that fall under the line will always feel like they do not see enough of the content, and those that are above the line will always quit a few weeks into the league because they're already tired of everything.
they need to balance it so you don't see everything and get everything immediately, or else there is no reason to keep playing. that is the mindset anyway, i imagine, and i would agree with it. you can't have everything handed to you where its easy and comes quickly because you'll stop playing sooner. GGG is obviously keeping this in mind, so they're making things like the end game bosses more rare so that you have to keep playing the game in order to see them. i do think they have it slightly off balance though, where we're not seeing these league mechanics and bosses enough and thus people are losing motivation to play because the grind is too much. this is why GGG just had a patch where all bosses are more common. of course we can't see a boss every time we go delving, that would place things in the category of "too much shit". its a weird balance. i certainly don't envy their jobs nor am i going to pretend like i could do any fucking better. though they clearly have a goal of balance in mind - balance of how much you need to play to experience the end league game mechanics like delve bosses....i just think they missed the mark a bit, so does the guy in the video, and so does GGG which is why they changed it. you need to keep in mind that while experiencing 4 harbinger nodes back to back directly in a row would be fun, as we see it now, if that was the delving normal it would quickly get bland as well - then we'd be asking for more or different or something else. essentially its a lose lose to GGG, no matter how they make it |

While i don´t mind those corrupted weapon nodes, that can drop 6links which are basically divineorbs, or the armor ones for some jewellers, i basically stopped picking and iding rares, cause they are lower quality than what can be found in maps.
Just wanna level up before i can push deeper in delve, because those delvespiders with their Iceicles are deadlier than compareable maplevels. Thosefar falling behind in delve, not finding enough new nodes which generate leveladequate items. Staying 10feet behind the crawler avoids most Iceicles until you get swarmed and pop a quicksilver+phasing flask to push through the spikes in damage. It´s like every league, you seem to be new here ^^, i already killed 4 abyssbosses, 1 breachlord, a council and some normal atziris. They basically want to refine delve while delveleague is actively new and shiny first and evalueate the data after the 3month of datagathering, nothing new. I would say: -delvedephts can be streched back by 30%, introducing mapmods earlier -different encounters can be increased twice, yes -the amount of data transmitted when pressing "v" should somehow get limited, it takes a second to load and i have a feeling there might be a memoryleak somewhere in there, me tends to crash after 10delvenodes. -oh and yepp, the spawntimer of "plummeting ursas"encounters can be set back by 10milliseconds again once the elites are out of their rush to be first. I think i got one +80%miniondamage bow fossil mod ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drDs-Y5DNH8

The challenges this league are pretty grief, I really wanted to hit 36 but I had 36 in breach by now and I was both a worse player and playing worse builds, Even if I buy uber elder/atziri etc I'm not sure i can hit 36 i've only found 2 bosses so far a lich dude at 75 that im trying to make sure i get all 4 challenges in one go (probably won't happen) and a bloody 83 vaal architect, who wants to practice a fight for challenges on HC on fucking 83 shit wtf spawn that crap at level 70 where it should be.
/rant off, sorry all! |

That video made a lot of sense. I don't understand what GGG is so afraid of. Give players what they want. Makes Delves 10x more rewarding. Make crafting 10x better and rewarding. Stop making PoE a market driven game tailored to the .1% who control it. Who the fuck cares if X item is 10ex or 1ex? That ridiculous .1% cares - fuck 'em. Make maps, crafting, items, loot, everything 10x more rewarding to the average player.
GGG does this and the vast majority of players will stay. Instead, its how high can I price X item so 99.9% can't afford it and give up on farming/collecting sulphite after 1 month. They burn out and quit. I don't want to see PoE ever turn into something like D3 but stop gating everything behind ridiculous barriers. Last edited by diablomix#4350 on Oct 4, 2018, 10:10:00 AM

" It already has. Seriously, go make a char in Diablo 3 and you'll struggle to tell the difference. The entire playerbase is in denial because they haven't played D3 since 1.0. |

I dont get why so many people get upset. They do this every single league or at least its been done the past two leagues. My favorite one was beast league. They showed some of the stuff you could craft through the recipes and when the beast league got released there was a few recipes left behind and not one word as to why or the fact they did it. I personally play for the challenges because it gives me something to do but I dont really feel like Delve is all in your face like a new league should be.

" This. I really dont understand why they tend to keep making game so much frustrating. DIII feels much more smooth and satisfying. I stopped playing DIII seasons just because they dont make any build changes anymore. Poe has this build flexibility, but if only one patch makes game a little bit satisfying they nerf it to the hell. Just ripped my char on Hc(lags, but this is another poe long story) and this time I really don't want to level another one as usual cos I see no reasons to delve anymore. They fear loosing player base if people start getting more fat drops and gear faster but they already loosing ppl cos game becoming boring. I see no problem in situations where I could get more drops. Yes I would gear up faster but it only means that I also could try more intresting builds this league, it does not mean that I will leave game asap lol. |
