could you specify your system specifications?

Doon't even start with your "system specs" bs... PoE is notoriously poorly optimized and you can have a NASA supercomputer and still get fps drops and and crashes. It's the software, stop acting as if good hardware is gonna make crappy software run better. Demand better optimization from devs rather.

I haven't crashed in several leagues now, and my PC isn't very high end. I don't get FPS drops (though Dynamic resolution kicks in occasionally, but that's what it's for)

Your move Yugi

Ok since you ask...., Lol

Half way thru last league I decided to upgrade my system. My old faithful potato was finally too old to keep up. So I bought a entire new system, with 12 cores, 32 gigs of ram, high end video card and other assorted goodies. Updated all my drivers and everything else. Put POE into play and just played my heart out last league.

This league at first started the same. Then the updates started.

I cannot play. I dc every time I log on. Usually within 10 minutes. Game plays perfectly until then, no lag, no stuttering, no rubber banding it fact nothing at all out of the ordinary until the game just freezes. A loud buzzing starts and that's it. Nothing works not even Task Master. I have to force reboot my system.

Does anyone have any suggestion? Please I really want to play!!!!!!!!
while it is true that PoE is not very optimised your problem seems to be hardware related.

either your cpu/gpu gets too hot, your ram module is faulty or your power adapter is a cheap one or is at its limit.

My cpu remains with normal, but the only I can say regarding the possibility of the ram module being faulty or power adapter is that the game ran perfectly for one half of last league and the start of this one. I only started having problem after the updates.

How can I check this sir?

You wasted a whole lot of money then. Should have asked someone for advice before buying stuff you'll never use.

32GB of memory for gaming, even 16GB is overkill. 8GB is more than enough and the fastest, highest quality memory on the market will both net you much higher performance, while also being much cheaper than the 32GB you spent your hard-earned cash on now... (Yes, I know, I have 32GB too, but I also do things for work that require this kind of memory capacity)

I don't mean to burst your bubble or make you feel bad about your purchase, grats on your new rig, it'll rock either way, but you could have done much better for less, probably in more than just the memory department.

Your problem sounds serious though. This freezing sounds like it's stalling even the mainboard, as your fans are losing their throttle control when the mainboard stops giving commands to your hardware. They'll just get maximum power from your power supply and spin at 100% capacity until you reset your system. This can be very loud, but it's not dangerous and doesn't mean your PC is dying.

If I were you, I would run a few diagnostics and tests to find out more. Memory tests aren't a bad idea. I'd need more specific information regarding your system specs to tell you much else though.

Have you ever gotten a notorious Blue Screen of Death? If so, pay attention to the error code it presents. If the screen fades too fast, try to make the scenario reoccur and take a picture with your phone when it happens. The error code can be Googled and Microsoft's knowledge base will have a pointer for you as to what to check next.

Looking at your post history, you got the new PC on or around the 1st June (start of Incursion league).

You first reported complete freezing of the system on July 28th - way before Delve started, so that would eliminate Delve updates as the cause.

As others have said, the symptoms you are experiencing all point to hardware / drivers / overheating. You could certainly help others to help you by running some of the tests mentioned here: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/554733 and reporting the results.
And another crash inside a city. Funny how the game doesn't crash anywhere else but once you reach a city? 1 out of 3 is going to crash.

It has to be something with the way monsters spawn, it fucks up the game.
not having the issue, implying it is hardware for you. Did you try googling the crash? Maybe try and track down a specific graphics setting that could cause that type of crash and change. On the extreme end, record all current graphics settings, change ALL of them, and see if crash persists. Also this really isn't a GD thread.

Or just: there is something in it that takes maybe more memory or does stuff in an unusual way so that this triggers the fault. Games are very good at triggering hardware issues. My last faulty hardware also had: "Game X,Y,Z work perfectly, game W constantly crashes, it is the games fault!!!". nope, just my GPU.

now please do the memcheck.

So if a city instance crashes you lose it completely. If you go back you cant enter anymore. If only there was a way for this piece of "art" to not lag, stutter and crash all the time.

You are wasting your time OP.

You will only get accused of:
1. having a bad PC ('toaster') and/or 2. bad ISP (losing packets) and/or 3. no SSD (see #1).

It's 'never' the games fault.

Am I right fanbois?

You are correct, sir. We are all just blindly spreading sweet GGG luv despite everyone being victims. We are not at all living in reality, where facts and logic applies over assumptions and fairytales.
