Delve, disrupting gameflow.

What? Haven't found 2 chaos faster than with leveling before level 30? Most of my currency has been from Delve so far since GGG still loves having people gimp their upgrades while going through acts by not giving enough of other currency.

Got an ok pair of shoes with 90 life on them and needed them 4linked all blue : 4 linked, 2Blue 2Green and Chromes don't fall from tree's enough to justify picking up 2x3's where they love popping up.
the only thing that would make this Delve thing good/interesting would be, if the cart goes where ever i go, so i can realy explore the mines.
and let me also find the fuel for the cart in the mine, this in and out of the mine is dumb and stupid.
this follow the cart thing is stupid and boring too.
the same goes for using flares and dynamite, well i get the dynamite but not the flare thing :/

Yeah the flares are really hard to use. The announcement yesterday said they are looking into changing that though so hopefully it will get easier.

As you delve further you'll find the other areas, it's just a matter of time.

To find the walls you can blow up you will need to look deeper into the darkness and when you mouse over them they will be highlighted in red.
Incursion:

The player has limited time to kill a bunch of monsters in a enclosed area,
after which he will be showered with a massive loot pinjata that

see this is my biggest issue with delve. i've seen on the map some things o23452345 to the side which are obviously hidden, and it tells you that you need to blow up a wall to get to it. ok lets go!

so you can explore the main path because its lit up, but there are so many nooks and crannies that you have no clue which one will actually have the wall. and to explore any of it, you use up your flares. ok go back and try again. great this time i found the wall - blow it up. it goes to a dead end.

i've looked for hidden things a handful of times, and this is how its always ended. i've always just wasted resources and loads of time.

hopefully this aspect of it gets improved. maybe make it so the only other path off the main one is definitely where theres hidden loot, since theres so many hoops we have to jump through to get it anyway.
They really should start us out with like 100 flares so we could learn how to use them. Making them cost too much at this stage is really the problem. I'm not going to "waste" azurite on something that I don't understand, and I can't understand it until I do. That's called a catch-22 and in a game like this it's way easier just to say "fuck that" than it is to try to break through it.
Heres what people need to realise:

the leagues are testing grounds for new content. What is delve and incursion? Its alternate endgame content, in the bigger picture its not levelling content. They dont want you to feel like the league doesnt exist, they want you to start it up and bang, heres the new league, im doing new things, so theyve included access to delve and incursion right away in act1. You got to put it in perspective though.

If you find it distruptive leave it til endgame, thats where it will mostly exist anyway moving forward right?


Its really high impact content, but thats why its great. I agree u want lower impact content to not disrupt the levelling process through the act quests. But they keep adding this sort of low impact content and people quit leagues quicker and quicker each time because when they get to endgame its still just maps, and all this dev time is going in to low impact mechanics like tormented spirits, harbingers, domination shrines, abyss....

sure theyre really cool, but they dont revolutionise the game, they dont add this new thing thats so cool it turns endgame around. You arnt bored of mapping and suddenly its totally fresh and the game has 100s, 1000s of hours of life back in it because 1 in 3 maps has a strongbox or rare mobs sometimes have nemesis mods.

People have spent 100s upon 100s of hours running atziri and uber, many people use that content every single league and it gives them a lot of play time in the league. Now, if you went to the atziri league and it offered you running atziri twice per act as you level... it would be just like incursion and delve, a bit weird right? But it released along side ambush and as cool as they are, ambush boxes are not rly something that gives a lot of people a lot to do every league. Atziri was more meaningful and valuable as a content addition right?



Delve and incursion both have scaling issues, balance issues with levelling... we just got to look past that tbh. Whats important is what this content IS long term, and what balance issues effect it in that role? Its not levelling content, just get to maps and play delve in endgame, judge it for what it is and lets look at the balance there.

The only thing it's disrupting are the insane bastards rushing as fast as fucking possible through the game in one day. (even though you still have a portion of them still managing that, what the fuck haha). Eh, seriously now, you've got 3 months to experience the content on the temporary league. Cool it down, relax, learn Delve. It's not like it's going to remain as it currently is, if it goes to the core game.

As for the content itself, it's a little buggy here and there and the flares suck ass; they're clunky to use and by the time you've used a couple you're already dead. Besides that, and as other users have said, you've gotta give us a stack of them to use from the get go. 15, 20. Something.

There's a shit ton of potential regarding Delve as an addon to the "end-game" portion of Path of Exile.
