How is PoE on an Ultrawide 2560x1080 monitor?

It's 2018. No reason this game should have the zoom level and view range of Diablo2 from 2000. It's no wonder this is a loot pinata EZ mode, speed meta game. Not like you could have mob gameplay with the current view level anyway.

And that proves my point nicely... thanks.

I don't disagree with your assertion that ultra provides significant game play advantage, but calling it "cheating" suggests a nefarious motive that I'm not willing to attribute to everyone who (like me) is attracted to having an ultra large monitor. For some people, it might be motivated out of a desire to have an unfair advantage, but that thought didn't even occur to me when I left the original post. In fact, given the downsides that have been pointed out by others, it's not clear to me that the advantages even outweigh the disadvantages. While one person is gaining the initiative over "offscreen" mobs, another person is dying because his life orb is out of view.

It literally depends on what build you use. If you use a super end game headhunter kinetic blast with herald ice on quad sextant beyond maps then you wont have a chance in hell at even constant 60 fps gameplay.

If you play a heavystrike melee splasher then it would be possible to get constant 60 fps.

PoE is absolutely beautiful on ultrawide. Not just the game itself but how the 3 UI panels fit into the window with no overlap. Very nice for trading. I've played 21:9 for the past 2 years, it is a dream.

But 4K PoE? Whole nother level completely. I just picked up a PG27U and this game in 4K with the HDR bleedthrough looks stunning. I was over 21:9 in 2 hours. I cap at 98HZ so i can get 4:4:4 color and holy shit does the game look amazing.

Works fine at 2560x1440. Able to maintain 144 FPS in most cases.

Unless you are playing the slowest/least graphically intensive possible build on the lowest possible graphical setting it is hard to imagine a system that could maintain 100 fps much less 144 fps under normal gameplay.

What? This just isn't true anymore at all. PoE post 3.0 is a completely different game performance wise. Still not great by any means but much better than it ever was. I can now run PoE @ 2560x1080 on max settings at 180+ frames constant, dropping to 120 or so in heavy particle effect fights / multi screen shatters. Currently running 4K @ 98HZ vsync w/ max settings and I'm not seeing anything drop below ~80 frames, ever. 4K performance actually really surprised me. 1080ti / 8700K @ 4.9 GHZ. So yea, don't spread bad info, contrary to popular belief you don't need the IBM's Watson to run this game in high resolutions..

It's nice read. Only problem I have where in(canada) buy such a monitor. The choice is very poor comparing to europe. There are practically only two strores where is possible to buy it and usually they don't have it of course. One is best buy and one is memoryexpress. I really dont know where to but really good monitor eizo, Nec or some other good brand. It sad if you want to see it first in stone store but you have no such a place here.

Wait what? I'm confused. Do you live in a really remote part of Canada or something? You still have newegg.ca and ncix.com no?

8700k OC'ed @ 5Ghz with OC'ed 1080 TI with ASUS 165Hz 2K monitor. FPS easily above 60fps at all times.

What build do you play? A toaster can get 144 fps on twilight strand with a slow build.

Hopped on my bow ele hit deadeye. 3440x1440, 21:9 and everything on ultra. Over 300 fps just running around, over 150 and usually around 200 fps while mapping / blinking around.

PoE runs extremely well for me. i7 6700k ( I typed like 3400k in thread earlier, don't mind me >.> ), gtx 1080 ti.
