How is PoE on an Ultrawide 2560x1080 monitor?
It's not about "higher" resolution... it's about ratio. The game is designed about a certain ratio, and dicking with that gives you an advantage. You either know that and are pretending you don't, or you're ignorant of that and don't understand what I'm talking about.
Imagine this game if you didn't have to worry about agro. If the only time you engaged a monster is when you decided you wanted to initiate combat. You get the first action every time. You get all the front loaded damage you can muster...every time. That's cheating in my book. |

Works fine at 2560x1440. Able to maintain 144 FPS in most cases.

I've got a 3440x1440 21:9, so the resolution is still super sharp. Very worth it though imo, I can't go back to a regular 16:9 after this.
Side note; I play many other games at the 21:9 resolution, such as WoW, Fallout 4, Skyrim ect. Some games like FO and Skyrim need a little setup to run in ultrawide though. And for games such as Overwatch where you can't force it, and you have to play in 16:9, you end up not noticing the black bars on the sides of the screen. At first I thought I'd hate it, but really it's fine. Edit; I also run PoE on all ultra settings, the screen is like I said 3440x1440,and I get well over 120fps on the biggest of pack fights, and well over 200 just mapping, usually hovering around 250. That's on an i7 3400k and a 1080 ti, but I'm just letting you know the screen won't hold you back. And mine is effectively a '2.5, or 3k' or so resolution. " While it absolutely gives you a slight (30% screen) vertical axis advantage, I've got a problem calling it cheating. The game supports that resolution, so it's not even taking advantage of a loophole, or a 'clever use of mechanics', GGG straight up supports it. If they didn't want players to use that resolution, they wouldn't have under their options. Using a 21:9 resolution is about as much cheating as having a faster response time monitor in an FPS. It's an advantage, but it's not cheating. |

" Unless you are playing the slowest/least graphically intensive possible build on the lowest possible graphical setting it is hard to imagine a system that could maintain 100 fps much less 144 fps under normal gameplay. IGN: Arlianth

Guys, I have an i7 @6700k with 16gb of ram and a GTX 970. Think my rig will be able to handle one of these ultra monitors?

I’d prefer playing on 8k...no need for the map overlay, full map on full screen baby

What I really want to know is how in the **** are people playing on the standard full-screen ratio? It's so f'ing terrible. It's literally like I'm putting my face to the screen and having my eyes be two inches from the screen. Terrible AF. You can't see crap and pretty much have to off-screen everything. It's no wonder this game can't have any enemy mob counter-play. The game just isn't zoomed out enough for it.
I have to use the ultra wide resolution to even stomach the game. Every time I put it back on full screen, I'm reminded of just how terrible the default zoom rate of the game is. |

And that proves my point nicely... thanks.
