Exactly what I was thinking. If GGG made PoE an arpg with a descent loot system (nothing overboard like loot pinata drops but better than 99.9% garbage) then the pressure to cheat to make PoE wealth to buy gear needed for a build would be reduced and botting wouldn't be as prevalent. GGG places so much emphasis on trading and then is appalled by quantity of botters and RMT sites. Wake up to the mess you have created with loot drop shenanigans and the impact it has on the PoE economy.

Current situation, from what I gathered trough-out this topic.
Let's see. Some of us play PoE because of <insert one reason here>, other play it because <instert another reason here> and so on. There's nothing wrong with his. I'm here since 2011, played trough almost all the leagues, and bought a few stash tabs because they made my playtime easier.
If the guy with the claw stuff quits because of reasons, his problems. If others feel offended because the PoE-trading system somewhat reflects on real life trade fluctuations, i get it, okay, quit the game and do something else.

Let's see other games, because there's and example there too.
Diablo 3 - RMAH; people farmed, botted for actual real money that they could withdraw within days. I farmed too, got like 20$, bought 2 shirts on ebay and I was done with the whole game. Other went further than this. RMAH was "shut down" players cried, got banned and so on, don't really care. But keep in mind that this was only a fraction of the whole D3 community. The other part didn't gave a sh1t about this.

PoE's newest update was the introduction of trading-system. I remember when the beta version was only available. We used to trade in Act1 mud flats dropping the items on the floor and hoping that the other player wont trick us. Can't recall any incidents regarding this.


However, I play this game because it's fun and rng sometimes is on my side (so much wow reasons). Now let's be honest: decent play-trough, infinite amount of classes and specs, rng based items, finally a game in which the currency is not gold or silver (insert comeback text here... idc) and don't forget: IT'S FREE. you don't need stash-tabs or mtx to boost your deeps or hp, they just make u look better and have more space. So don't expect a stable currency trading system whatever-yougetthepoint-. There always were and always will be situations like this, and this isn't the firts incident, nor the second in game universes. For Path of Exile, it is up to GGG to decide the fate of the community. Perhaps they will update their EULA because of the recent events, or they will stand back and watch how the actions of the past will repeat itself.

You all shared your opinions, so here's mine.


P.S. The fact that streamers got banned for botting, that makes things more embarassing. Don't care about the names, but usually their viewers are roughly around 1-4k. They "get paid" to entertain us, if they bot in the meanwhile and get caught/banned it's a shame in my opinion. Either way, do it like a pro and be under the radar or don't do it at all.
