Grinding Gear's reasons for not offering restores or reimbursements for blatant player error (which, by the way, this was - the error is 100% you, not Grinding Gear), is very simple.

If they did offer such recompense, they would be flooded by a hundred thousand e-mails every day demanding recompense for every teensy tiny little thing a player thinks went wrong with their game, and would not have time to do anything else. That is a floodgate nobody wants to open.

You learned an extremely painful lesson. I'm sorry you lost your fifty-five spare rings. Grinding Gear's policy is clear, however, and unfortunately it's clear for very good, immediately apparent reasons. If they lose your business because of it? Well, sadly, that's all right. They lose a lot less money letting you go than they do bogging themselves down in thousands and thousands and thousands of 'GIMME FREE STUFF!' e-mails every day.

Besides. Tencent's got their balls on the money front now, and we all know what Chinese customer service looks like. What, realistically, did you expect?

Did you get any alts & alchs as well OP? Should have been quite a few in the window but maybe the prophecy overrides all of that too?

Anyway, I 100% agree with you OP - GGG's decision to not restore your 55 lost rings is heartless. But I also understand why they shafted you anyway. Like 1453R outlines, it's because their policy is to be heartless in this case.

Now, you can't instantly add 60 rings to the trade window, you have to click on each one individually.

After adding 5 rings the prophecy would have shown you the gift wrapped box in the trade window. So how did you reconcile that you were getting the armour with only 5 rings and not 60?

Because he is talking shite and just spammed the rings in the trade window and probably did something else meanwhile like watching his favorite PoE-Streamer.

Not getting the crappy unique prophecy in 1400 hours is just plain right not possible. You get that shit in every level range. He is just pissed and looking for excuses.

I agree with most posters here: all the additional currency schould have been an indicator that something was off.
On the other hand I agree that there should be vendor recipes which should be higher priority then prophecies because they are pretty expensive. Maybe this will come in a future update but for now: look closely if you get what you thought you should before accepting a trade (also goes for player trades too: don't get scammed).

Btw.: nobody called you an idiot. they just said that you are rude by calling GGG bad programmers and that they offer bad customer service when the mistake was made by you.
