Any interesting double corruptions yet?

Except it gets +8 from the item. It gets +4 for being Cold, and +4 for being Fire.

Are we looking at the same item? The one linked in this thread, which is the subject of the current conversation as far as I knew, grants +2 fire, not +4 fire.

The one Bex linked grants +4 fire, which would allow you to socket a gem for Level 29 Cold to Fire. However, the Unique's built-in Level 30 Cold to Fire would still override it, since 30 is greater than 29.

The Frostferno I linked I use on an Elemental Hit build. Since 95% of Elemental Hit's base damage comes from Elemental Hit itself, having +8 to it's level is pretty snazzy.

The lvl 30 built-in Cold to Fire is not affected by these mods, this has never been the case. Built-in supports don't count as being socketed gems.

And while you could theorize getting a very high level Cold to Fire on other items, it's not a good use of "+x to socketed x gems". They are mostly used for gems with base stats like Spells, certain Attacks, Added Damage Supports, Minions and certain Auras. As a rule of thumb, each level adds about 10% more base stats to these gems multiplicatively. Compare that to the '1% of cold damage added as fire damage' per gem level of Cold to Fire and you see it falls rather short.

I have another locus of corruption ready to go but don't really have anything good enough for double corrupting.

Below are the items I corrupted, if you can't see it because it went poos.

I made a couple in SSF:

Ive farmed the crap out of the temple room and have gotten a t3 corrupt room now 11 times. All 11 dam times its eaten my Tabulas. And then that room with the lapis lens I think its called have gotten about 8 times and still have not gotten any of the gems to corrupt the way I need them to for the challenge.

I have also given up on corrupting Tabulas. Farming them is a pain (although I dropped 2), but I bricked 6 of them so far. And Lapidary Lense is just really rare. T3 Corruption room.. had like 20'ish of them so far?
