Changed my mind again, INSANE chaos damage hurts Incursion experience a lot.

Chaos damage in general still suffers from having a completely different design backing it up in early beta.

At first, there wasn't suppose to be a chaos resist. Chaos was supposed to work as a way to equally damage every characters no matter their build (except CI). Opening ennemy design, especially for bosses. But they never really got to use it, so it turned into poison and got a resistance (but chaos affix got higher cost to still make it a little bit special).

So now, chaos is in this weird place where it is ignored because that's how it was intended to be, but still comes up every now and then to ruin an area for those who ignored it.

FYI, that's why it's called Chaos, and not Poison. Even though, for all intent and purpose, it IS poison (or acid, corrosion or whatever).

Don't put words in my mouth or misinterpret what I'm saying here. I was talking generally of increased chaos damage as an answer to several of the post in here, where "chaos damage" as a topic was being discussed. More chaos damage is good for the game, as it is currently being ignored. That was the baseline.

If off-screening is the issue, I can agree. That has been a problem since the start of this game; more or less. I can even agree on the fact that spawning the player too close to A LOT of monster, is a bad and unfair deal.

But I have met a lot of these poison-spitting creatures in the Incursions so far, and they haven't off-screened me yet. They have killed me, though, several times - mostly because of my lack of chaos resistance and bad positioning - in addition to general mitigation.

But as they issue a threat, and actually kills people, I'm sure they'll nerf it.

Best part is when you spawn in incurson room right in middle of everything where is no walls and 100 mobs shooting at you at the same time and you die instantly

Only thing scary about incursions is when you spawn surrounded by enemies.

Assuming your post is valid at all (you don't play some tanky bullshit or something). You will understand when you get into higher level Incursions.


Done up to t15 incursions now with only a few problems. Those are always when spawning in and surrounded... I do have -20% chaos res but thats nothing.
Incursions can hurt but you have to avoid some of the attacks.
The stronger attacks are avoidable, *IF* you can see them.

And thats part of the problem with the chaos 'bombs'. They look great, with their dark purple and trails and stuff, but when you combine that with a pack of 20 shield charging (?) mobs that leave 8 shadows each, obscuring everything else you *DONT* get to see these lethal projectile clusters heading towards you.

This is doubly hard for minion builds, because the projectiles are homing and ignore minions.

Its a phys spell so it causes problems for evade based characters, its always a problem with phys based stuff tbh abyss league had the same problem though it was far more widespread in that instance.

It's like the community doesn't listen to itself at all. When GGG buff the players it's "OMG powercreep"... when they buff the monsters "Oh my god this game is just not fun".

putting in one mob type that causes problems =/= buffing monsters, mobs probably do need a buff but phy spells are always badly balanced and people will always complain, it was shit in perandus, it was shit in abyss and its still shit now because one of the defences doesn't work for it.

They are a problem before you even get to chaos damage, chaos damage just causes problems for the rest of the defences.
