" DAoC... now THERE'S a game where one change early on, that was "popular", led to a long-term demise, where everyone instead remembers the game ruined by the "Artifact" expansion. Don't get me wrong, I didn't like Artifacts either, but the whole game concept was changed forever when they removed the frontiers in favor of instanced combat. #1 rule of official forum boards of every video game ever: use the forums to relay info, gather suggestions, or the rare narrow-focused Poll; but NEVER as "feedback".
#2 rule: Never say the #1 rule in an official capacity. Let some guy on the forums say it, leaving yourself plausible deniability. |

" It wasn't done due to complaints about RvR being unfair, it was due to (semi-valid) complaints about not enough of it. All player-vs-player interactions that WEREN'T keep-assaults had basically come down to huge groups of people at the Emain Macha point pingponging kills in an method that, were it seen today, would be accused of being staged, just so they could get the Realm Points. So they removed the frontiers and made instances of RvR, so that people wouldn't have to do all that "waiting" of being out in the frontiers when they weren't seeing people to kill. And the people rejoiced... for a couple months. Then they all got bored of the on-demand RvR. Basically, giving people EXACTLY what they wanted ended up being a long-term loss proposition. Go figure ;p. (Other MMO's have been attempting methods to give action while avoiding burnout since then, some succeeding, some failing... thankfully, DAoC2 seems to want to learn from those mistakes. I can hope ;p) #1 rule of official forum boards of every video game ever: use the forums to relay info, gather suggestions, or the rare narrow-focused Poll; but NEVER as "feedback".

" The foundations are actually there - it was called legacy league. So for a paid league they could just use the mechanic but have the selection of active league stones be permanent. This is bothering me so I have to say it. CoH = Company of Heroes.
It took me an urban dictionary link to find out what you guys are using this abbreviation for. |

I wont be supporting a company who's profits ultimately fund China's dictator to include its war machine. China is building up it's military might and Tencent's profit contribute to that.

Is it possible to not buy products made in China or not buy products whose manufacture contributed to the government of China?
I own an iPhone. I certainly won't stop playing POE because Tencent owns the company now any more than I would stop participating in the forums here. Hard cash, I'll think about. I try not to buy anything made by Monsanto, because I think they are a very bad company. But in today's multinational world, it is difficult. "Gratitude is wine for the soul. Go on. Get drunk." Rumi

" German-owned GGG would be an interesting one. Their way of censorship is truly something else. |
