All of you who ever supported GGG are the suckers.

You thought they (GGG) were in it to make a fun game. Nope.

They were in it for the big score, all along. Make that $$$$.

They could do it one of two ways:

1) Continue to hope, pray and beg every month (every week?) for all of the player base to continue to buy MTXs, packs, etc. Rinse, repeat ad nauseum.

2) Sell out one time, for some serious coin. Problems solved. Family fortunes cemented.

Now ask yourself, which would you do?

I fully support, and congratulate, GGG for selling out - that's the ultimate goal since day 1.

Any of you who think or believe otherwise is living in fantasy land. That ain't how the real world (tm) works.

Enjoy the new tax brackets GGG - you earned em! :)

Enjoy the new feeling of having a mentality that can't see the forest for the trees, friend.

If you think this wasn't going to happen at some point, that's simply you writing it out of your list of possibilities, not GGG doing a top 32 anime betrayals.

If the players are the cause of this game dying, it will piss off a lot of people big time, and will set a record in the gaming industry. Do you want this to be how a brilliant dev team ends up being remembered?

Or to put it bluntly: save the moralizing for people who can't see beyond that. Some of us just want to see continued development of a good game without people talking morals and politics to spoil it all for everybody else.

Thank you GGG for letting China put one more foot in Europe. Be ready to have to welcome a member of the CCP party.

What kind of take is this? :D
You do realise GGG is located in New Zealand, right?
And purchasing a major stake at a videogame company doesn't "put their foot" anywhere.

I swear people in here are clowns LMAO

I'll never understand why you sell even a part of your own great idea. That's stupid and a shame.
If I invented something so successful that other inventors would offer me billions of dollars, I would say, "This is my baby, my pride, and it stays with me, no matter what!"
Likewise, when other developers are interested in portions of my invention.

A good developer will never give his baby out of hand if it succeeds!

I don't know if Chris is a good developer, there shall be a lot of criteria to judge. However I am pretty sure you are NOT a developer. If a developer that wants there game to be mature and success, they will always want a strong economic background so the company can focus on real developing instead of monetizing bullshits (this is actually the number one cause of how games dies, especially online games), and therefore get a big investor should be the goal since the very first day the company is created. Now here is the concern: will GGG lose their independence. Most likely not, judging by the past investment history of Tencent. Another concern: has GGG lost their ownership of the game. For this the answer is simple: Tencent did not buy GGG, they invested in the majority stake, and hence it will be quite hard for Tencent to freely manipulate. I personally will consider GGG lucky to got a company like Tencent: respectful for independency and got a huge amount of money.
Well..you never asked a community about going from indie to corporate. The same community that made GGG what it is today.

I find your move shady, dubious and greedy. Sure it is a business move as any other, however due to lack of communication on this matter, I will not financially support your company any longer.

Though I hope your new Tencent overlords allow delivery of at least a few more worthy expansions.

Well everyone and anything could be sold/bought

RIP POE
Let me preface by saying, this is a company to make money...it was never a secret. I have been happy to support because I have had lots of fun and many hours of entertainment. I want the company to continue to make money if I continue to have fun in the future. So i will continue to support they game i love (as long as I still enjoy it)

but

I like the part where he posts they dont interfere in the game, and then goes to say they "may" have some "special requirements/requests" for the Chinese version. And then follows up with how those changes may make it here.

I am glad your team made its $$$. I will still play this game a ton as long as its fun. But you opened up with double talk.

Your release statement has told us that they will not interfere, and they will probably interfere on the same page.....

And saying it would only hit international if its "super cool"...cmon. You are trying to say if any changes implemented the Chinese market turns out profitable wont come here if you don't like it? Are you trying to throw wool over our eyes? or have not been able to pull yours off already.

The acquisition is fine as long as the game is fine. And I hope, and predict it will be.

But in the end....the founders of GGG are no longer own/run the game PathOfExile. They are now just employees who work for a company which does. They will do what they are told.

ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!!
i dont blame the guys from GGG to sell it out!
we dont know the terms of they made with the companny, maybe this was what they need to improve the game!
in 4.0.0 maybe we can see a huge expansion and even a new engine, maybe the money will be use to stop all the conections problems as hardware, so i dont know whats is going on the backstage, with money the can make everything.
If the game dies than we can find a new one......life is hard!
