Well i think it IS a problem, that stereotypes are reproduced and perpetuated. As the black african "under"developed tribal folk. Or a very orientalistic view on the Middle East etc.
A lot of that (also racism) is still stemming from very ancient times and ideologies, where the world was divided in uncivilized people (that you can slaughter - compare Francisco de Vitorias ›De Indis‹) and the (christian / developed) world. Paired with evolutionary theories in anthropology and sociology it created narratives that we still cling on today. BUT I dont nessecarily think we need to ban this from games etc. The change should take place in our minds and hearts. I enjoy playing a lot of games that have highly questionable content Last edited by Im2sl0w#6409 on May 11, 2018, 7:51:14 AM

" Some things never change, guess what happened when ggg showed their new flamethrower trap. Instead of not thinking anything, people enjoy to point in certain directions, because its not them. Its getting boring. |

I find amusing that Chris still seems to follow the card game Magic:The gathering and that game last fall did an expansion based on mesoamerica where the equivalent of the conquistadores were purposely portrayed in an extremely evil light, just to avoid the issue of gloryfying conquistadores.
I think magic also portrayed the atzec equivalent in a neutral to bad light and made the more positive forces the mayan equivalent and for some reason the pirates equivalent tho. Last edited by tmich#4280 on May 11, 2018, 11:41:58 AM

This is a video game. They could make kittens and puppies and have Love all your fellow gamers pop up and give out real money, people would still find things to bitch about. It is not a gamble to predict people will find things to bitch about really, it will happen - always does.
