This game's curve is seriously out of whack...

No matter what I do, I'm boned. I have ~600 health with ~900 Energy Shield, maximum fire resist, 30% block with 20% dodge, and I pop Molten Shell and/or Granite Flask when I get swarmed, and still I get instantly killed by a Righteous Flame mob who double crits me. And I PROBABLY desynced somewhere in there, as well.

This game started off fun, but it's reaching the point of obnoxious the further I get into it. I can't even purchase upgrades at this point because everything costs some amount of EXALTED ORBS once you hit 50+. Sure, I could farm shitty bosses and vendor enough rares so that I can sell some guy 200 Alterations just for a single piece of gear upgrade - then repeat this 9 more times for a complete set. And hey, I'm sure I'd gain a couple levels in doing that!

But you know what, that's not fun.






So tell me. Am I MISSING something? Or is this game's actual design supposed to appeal to the same crowd as Runescape?

I WANT to like the game. But I'm beginning to have a hard time doing so when I get quick-popped (half the time from a desync) and lose whatever experience I gained over the last hour.



If you want to have fun and be efficient with your play time, make a range character and pick up ton of HP nodes. I absolutely do not suggest continuing with that character until the balance patch comes out.


To everyone telling him to farm cruel for hours to upgrade his gear, you guys are CRUEL.

Lightning skills are soooo underpowered.

Melee skills even more so.

You should play the new Runescape, I don't think anything's mutilated childhood's more or been any easier.
Should have put all points into health, and all +life mods on gear. Even your weapons should just be +life, no damage.

Well, OP, it's probably because you're Melee or a Close-Quarters character like I am.

Hell, I'm a 55 Marauder, have some VERY nice gear for my level (every piece but 1 has some form of +Life, Life Regen, or Life on Hit / Kill), have every Health Node in the Marauder & Templar starting areas, and have over 3100 DPS on my Default Attack (Heavy Strike) BEFORE Hatred, and I get crushed in Act 3 Cruel too...I'm stonewalled at the Barracks ATM.

So yeah, I feel your pain. Sadly at this moment, Melee is just not scaled properly. Thankfully it's being worked on. So no worries. I can wait until it's fixed to take another swing at Melee.

Agree.

Getting any damage nodes just not worth it.

Damage comes from gem level.

Just get life

DOn't wnat to be mean but you have no life, and from the stat page the guy linked you have no no synergy in your build.


Your gear is subpar as well. Each piece of gear should have +life, rings and ammies can vary based on whats available and what resists are needed for the area.

Your also using a pretty low damage dagger for cruel.
