Discussion - ''Tools''
" This is basically motto of POE that should be set in a stone. There are SOOOOO MANY things in this game that give you advantage if you know them, that it renders this argument pointless. How many people know how conversion actually work?! How many people know how actual damage or defence is calculated (an evasion and dodge being rolled before the block, making every proc on block statuses pointless with certain builds). How many people know how aliments work, how many people know how shock works?! and many more. And don't get me started on trading shenanigans. With this logic, this league was supposed to be rollbacked the moment someone duped an item because he gained an advantage that other peoples didn't know, yet they let it slides with the argument "not many people were actually doing this". Or how about that Lyco shit, that guaranteed you 200% profit. You changed something that even wiki didn't know it. How's that fair!? It's matter of principle. its because devs are so afraid of the community backlash here they feel to need to justify any changes, which is absurd
the debug log line was how the compass (what an awful tool btw- fit EXACTLY for the average modern gamer who cant do shit themselves, can you imagine such a tool in Hexen for example ? or even in Daggerfall's random dungeons ?) got the patterns. guess what, most devs here just remove the debug line in the next patch. its a debug line not even intended for pattern mining. get rid of it, gets rid of problem. done. fin. customer doesnt even know about it, and if he does - too bad, its a debug line that literally serves no other purpose than debug. but because there might arise a shitstorm and dumb 'nerfhammer' memes they are forced to justify with bullshit. now, I dont condone that because its bs, but I hope you understand that the greedy community that cant deal with balance without getting emotionally attached to loot/efficiency/power, is the reason for this debacle Last edited by grepman#2451 on Apr 17, 2018, 9:34:52 PM
