Would be better if maps had mobs in them to begin with IMO and you could invest in the maps to make them better. Instead of spending time on boring unintuitive bullshit. But sure it's cheap and so good it's mandatory if you wanna run a shaped map.
Knowing GGG they will make it bad and keep it or remove it altogether, while keeping map density low. Meanwhile slipping in something more broken and also nerfing some playstyle to the ground. |

" You keep repeating that, but what makes you believe that A) this is intended design? B) new or casual players profit from this? You need a ton of specific maps and a lot of time to set it up. You need to go against encouraged behavior and not kill the guardians. Having something that is intended to disappear not disappear stinks of abuse. (PS: i don't care if it stays or not, I just don't understand this statement) 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519

" Yeah. They hate effective mapping for no reason. Casual players only profit from our playing effective. A lot of rares going cheaper just because they drop a lot in those optimized map setups. ... And Elder Ring is REQUIRED to sustain maps. They can make force it to not drop maps but they should then buff base map drop by the same amount. Mapping is feel bad enough even with Elder/Shaper on it in 3.2. |

Elder rings aren't required to sustain maps -_- like I think they should keep them, its a creative and fun way to use the war for atlas mechanics but lets not be unreasonable here, 1/2 the mods don't buff your quantity in any meaningful way (which they should look at tbh) and you can absolutely sustain on alch and go once you've put the hours in to build your base up.
Before someone goes but yeah you have to build your base up you have to do that to make an elder ring pretty much so saying you need to sustain maps to setup an elder ring and sustain maps is self defeating :P |

" Do you really sustain red tier maps (T14+) with alch+go? How? I can do this only with Sextants+Influence. Even full atlas clear T14+ sustainable only with Influence+Zana Bloodlines at least. You can for sure sustain some T10 but when your character is geared enough to kill Uber Elder it isn't even remotely fun to clear T8 Burial Chambers or smth. T15+ at least gives some interesting encounters. |

" How it help more than doing elder/shaper rota ? What bring shaper influence exactly ? Last edited by EzBreesy#4599 on Apr 2, 2018, 10:35:30 AM

I tend to roll them up, I start with like 6 T11's then I run what drops until i've push what i started with and tend to bank all the better 14/15s (so no coliseum i've never had an upgraded map drop off coliseum, or the boss :p)
I only use sextants on the T15's when i'm going for guardian map drops, preferably with a set of 3 decentish rolled ones, also only generally use chaos orbs to reroll t15's if its like a 4 mod. As for shaped i tended to go for maps with higher quantity of monsters rather than a streamlined layout, most of those were based on gut feelings though, the only real advantage of these is you can use yellow sextants on them and their bosses tend to be far less likely to waste your time.
