I have read most of the replies here but no one has even suggested that the penalty or learning curve once you hit mapping seems to be the biggest problem to most people.

This would suggest there is something slightly out of whack if the majority of players get to the end game and then spend weeks grinding out for a few chaos to but there must have items or craft there must have stats.

So wouldnt it be better to look at the difficulty the game becomes when you reach mapping compared to that of PC players.

A lot of our moves are auto aim from what I can make out. Most of our totems are basically random placing etc etc (all but saying in what direction from us we would like them to go but it isnt precise.

There are a few other niggles/difference that IMO make the xbox playing of this game more difficult. (I wont even go into the flasks on 1 button or pc users can run macros etc etc).

So if we lowered the difficulty of the game down after mapping that still goes up the same way but just at a lower setting it would cover many of the problems.

People with basic gear will be able to do the first few level maps ie 1-5 with reasonable success allowing them to better there gear/items and loot enough to hopefully boost the economy. If people decide to make the maps rare then surely they will still be a little bit harder but not almost impossible (people should shape for there own use/ease of course). Then the maps 5-10 and 10-end game will of course be harder.

The lowering will just make those who want to advance but cant a taste of mapping with the chance to working on there gear from they loot and give them something to sell. Those who have worked on the gear will get further but pass on there unwanted items too.

But when rng plays a big part in this game and only a few people play compared to the PC then the more people getting a chance to progress further can only help the game.

As a pc veteran i find poe quite easy on xbox, and i find battlefield 1 byond godmode hard 🙂, bought that shit and played for 3 hours then quitted.
Poe is supposed to be a grind game, ggg even stands for grinding gear games and far from everyone likes that, but some do and for those its good that poe exist.

I have killed the minotaur boss, and trust me, my gear cost 2 chaos a piece exept my cheast armor wich i were lucky to find belly.
My build is gladiator poison cycloner with bladeflurry swap for bossing.

Guide builds will always be expensive, because people are remembering the items when they find it, and then naturally puts a higher price then they normally would.

There is one thing im having frustration with, and its how you first reach 1 shaper guardian, then you need to go back to yellow maps to farm the 3 other paths to shaper.
I am not saying make the game so so much easier once you reach mapping that you could do it naked and without a weapon!!!!

I am just pointing out the learning curve seems a little whack.

I am now in my 3rd league and have always done ok and reached T16 and done one or two of the guardians, but still not fully worked out all of them guardian/shapers.

I have always prided myself only slowly getting the bis for my char as I progress. I have always gone marauder.

This league I decided to go 2h instead of my usual 1h+shield. Now either the game is broken or my gear (even though only rare for most of my gear). But this time even at lvl 84 with over 50% phys reduction 5k health I am getting one shot on T3 rare maps. This squishyness has never happened to me before. I have spent all my currency to try and change things on my gear and in passive tree, but still no joy. This is proof to me that even with half decent rare gear and a build that doesnt seem to work (i picked this build for its cheapnest) people arent going to stay long if they then need to sit and grind out for hours on end to try and get 6link or some uniques from trade if there NOT enjoying the game.

I am in the middle of trying another players build which is very similar to mine but with a very different passive tree and ascendary. This will see if I just choose a BAD build or my usual playstyle didnt suit the build or have things changed within the game.

I would also say that its all fine and well saying you play this and that on the Xbox, but there isnt many builds that actually say they are xbox friendly at the start. So its a bit trial and error.

I also bet those players finishing the game have the same build over and over again because it works, they most probably group with friends at the start of the league and race towards end game asap and make many many currency from there loot which inturns makes it easier to do over and over again. But when there is a lack of a playerbase then only a few get rich quickly.

Also from the 3 leagues I have played the harbinger league was the best for currency due to the harbingers dropping shards of exalt etc etc allowing people to grind out 3-5 exalts and actually buy stuff.

Something needs to be looked into and addressed before this becomes a promblem for everyone.
Under the current circumstances if no one lifts a finger in GGG or initiate a meeting to improve the Xbox version of the game then its really pointless to continue playing on the Xbox version, when you could just go to the PC version and not face these constants restrains and actually build a good characters. So far nothing has been put into place to address several issues mentioned on the Xbox so the question is what now? Keep playing and hoping something is done or just go back to the PC version.
People have been complaining that the game is too hard and will loose playerbase because of it since the game came out and yet the playerbase has never been bigger (I ASSume). The people that stick around and end up playing it for years and years do so because they actually enjoy having to work at learning all the various complexities that is POE, and this also includes trying out a build idea and failing to make the concept sustainable, thus having to reroll a new build or having to recognize the builds faults and hopefully making the appropriate adjustments needed to try it again (I ASSume)

For myself and i suspect many others, this is what makes the game FUN. To others it is a grindy chore and i get it. The game just isnt for everyone (yet another ASSumption sorry)

And speaking as a long time PC player, to me the xbox version is only a tiny fraction harder to get the gear i need to progress with. Now trying to exchange currency or to buy currency at a reasonable price, forget about it. If i need 20 regrets to switch some points around im farming for them rather than paying the crazy prices on the trade board, but other than that im just not seeing it.

PRETTY sure they did that because of the missing characters bug lol. The tradeboard does work perfectly fine dude. I really don't see what the issue is. Automatic trading through the board will never be a thing. GGG was clear about that IIRC

Why do people think auto trade is a bad thing? On PC it is insanely easy to get the item you want. But on xbox it is a lot harder because there is no auto buyout and there are less players. Less players = worse economy. If the economy is worse, why make it even harder to trade? Wouldn't you want to balance it to make it easier like pc?

I don't think you've played PC version if you think it's "insanely easy" to get the items you want/need lol.
I play starter builds. I'm in BHC on xbone and I'm lv80 doing t5 maps. Just because your build has 2 required super rare uniques doesn't mean the game is broken. Learn to play...
Well i dont know what happend with maps, but its impossible to progress atm.
Got 100% to find s map tier higher, if its possible to roll higher, and all im finding is 5-8 tiers lower.

100% agreed. The majority of the Xbox community is too lazy to learn a new game. They'd rather have GGG turn into Blizzard and give free hand outs LUL.

So what are you trying to get at? This isn't a drop rate issue, this is a lack of how many people actually get to end game. You don't need a "super sick & expensive" build that requires specific gear to kill shaper if that's another one of your "issues"

Of course the Xbox community is going to overprice the gear because of the little amount that is on the trade board.

The boots drop A LOT. Give it another week and voidwalkers will drop in price
