Some of them probably believe something wacky like this. LOL

I never thought I would see the day where gamers were basically asking for censorship. When I was a kid we were mad that they wanted to put ratings on games, deny kids the right to buy games, etc.

Now it turns out gamers WANT certain content censored.

Who would have thunk it?
Censored.

I left you a link. There are plenty of examples.

Animals have fun. They can also kill frivolously. Not everything an animal does is some perfectly calculated instinctual drive.

I take it youve never lived with many animals. Especially around wild animals.

So let's take your "linked post" at face value and take the first example.

Dolphins killing non-predatory species in a very specific manner, described by the article as "fun killing".

So let me pose another explanation for the behavior.

The dolphins had youngsters that needed to learn to hunt, but hunting actual territorial enemy's includes danger for them, so the older dolphins utilize "dummy dolls" found in the environment to teach them specific survival skills.

So tell me, what makes my explanation any less likely then the conclusion portrayed there based of "remains found".

Many species do this, they take non-dangerous prey to their baby's and demonstrate actual technique's to utilize later on to survive.

So what excludes this possibility in your little article?

Peace,

-Boem-

Youre so cute when ur mad. Lol

Your "little" response is that of no consequence. Youre no expert and keep trying to bend everything thats thrown at you to abide ypur worldview.

The experts said it was perplexing, and rando poe player is gonna come here and out do them? Give me a break.

Yeah, there are ways to explain it. There are ways to explain just about everything. Yet the experts didnt agree with your notion.

Again, what value does dancing have to a wild parrott?

Animals have fun.
Animals can kill for fun.
Experts say this. Deal with it or become an expert and disprove them.

Lmao

Peace,

-Boem-

Look i just became an expert.

Welcome to the internet, careful now.

I know we used to be the champions of freedom in games and really everywhere

now the whole Political correctness devolution thing is creeping in everywhere
I dont see any any key!

You seriously think they do this for "fun" and not to keep their senses and hunting ability's in top form?

Quick reminder, a cat doesn't have a fridge to turn to when he doesn't catch a mice that day.

I find it laughable you project the notion of joy and fun onto an animal that needs to survive on a daily basis keeping himself and his ability's "on-point".

You seriously think that cat and orcas are killing they prey without eating it after are doing it for survivwal?

Also You adress only part of my post because rest is not fittiong into Your cut worldview?

Are You aware that those are MENTAL ISSUES?

morbo wrote:

Obviously people's perceptions from real life translate into games. And those who have problems with the idea of caging and sacrificing animals, will have problems fully enjoying bestiary, because their morals "leak" into the game.

How this kind of thinking is in any way healthy?

morbo wrote:

Why is Bestiary slightly different from what we were playing up to now - because it introduces a Zoo and ritual sacrifice. Do you think someone would be offended, if say, instead of animals, we would cage corrupted wraeclastian aborigines and sell them to "Dr. Mengele" for exalts? I think many would be pissed, because of the added implications of such gameplay - even tho we already kill millions of human enemies in the game.

AGAIN its not ritual sacrifice - its a FIGHT probably HARD ONE. Its not killing an ACTUAL STRAPPED INTO ALTAR animal.

FFS people in what reality You are living?

OK lest play a game. Lest say that PoE world is an actual reality for all creatures that live in that reality. For us its just simulation, our charaters are "gods avatars" that do some crazy shit. For them that reality is real as our to us. What are basic mechanics and laws of that reality? Have You ever tried to comfort or befiend any of those mobs? He? Is there any possibility to be firend with any of those "animals"? Do You even have a god damn choice?

Thinking that killing those monsters is ok but doing so in cage is not is just mental.

You have to learn more about animals behaviour because right now You just projecting your own perceptions. Those are not the truth. Learn about dolphins. They are way much more smart than instincts.

Don't forget to arm those doplhins with towels.

Honestly i can't be arsed to care about killing stuff in-game, if it's the explicit objective in the game.

But i can empathize with people from a lore perspective that are troubled by the fact the ranger for example is now capturing and displaying animals in a zoo to then sacrifice, which seems to be inherently against her back-story.

Like people bringing up GTA and stuff in order to justify this as being "okay" are kind of stupid.

The whole premise of GTA is to act out a made up persona that does the things the game has as an objective.

This league seems right up the shadows alley, not so much on the rangers though in therms of lore and even for the shadow the displaying doesn't fit, since he prides himself on his assassinations(which arguably means a pride in not being discovered as the perpetrator)

I don't really understand why people not concerned with the lore take offense to the notion that this league might be kind of "bad" in relation to that part of the game.

Just a reminder that Minecraft (a kid's game bought by microsoft for billions) promotes caging pigs and sheeps and lets you breed them even if one is the offspring of the other.

GGG is fine here i think.

This proves what I have known for years: people have trouble distinguishing reality from fantasy. They believe in characters they see in movies, I don't know what all.

Now they believe that killing things in a game is somehow immoral. Name one source that says it is immoral, a sin, whatever you believe, to kill in a video game. Just one will be enough.

Just one you say?

Ok, here's three then, now go away please. You've been disproved.

Boem how you are not concerned with all those murders in Game of Thrones? Or in Narcos? Do You even know that Narcos is based on ACTUAL events?

How You are not concern about all those poor orks in Middle Earth and that Troll that got killed in Moria? Have You seen how painfull his death was?

How you are not concern about Your mental health and mental health of those who cannot recognise difference between game/movie/book from reality?

You didn't really quote me in your example, so i didn't read it.

What makes you consider the therm "fun" for that male cat?

Is he experiencing joy when killing those pubs? Evolutionary it makes sense but i don't really see how "fun" comes into play in this story.
