This proves what I have known for years: people have trouble distinguishing reality from fantasy. They believe in characters they see in movies, I don't know what all.

Now they believe that killing things in a game is somehow immoral. Name one source that says it is immoral, a sin, whatever you believe, to kill in a video game. Just one will be enough.

Just one you say?

Ok, here's three then, now go away please. You've been disproved.

Much love,
Matt.

VATICAN CITY (Catholic Online) –** Video games, animated films and other media that exalt violence** and trivialize sexuality is** a perversion**, especially when directed at young people, said Pope Benedict XVI.

“Any trend to produce programs and products – including animated films and video games – which in the name of entertainment exalt violence and portray anti-social behavior or the trivialization of human sexuality is a perversion, all the more repulsive when these programs are directed at children and adolescents,” Pope Benedict said.

OK, so will the people that have issues feel better if GGG puts up a disclaimer, something like this:

"No animals were harmed or mistreated in any way in the making of this game."

You guys do know that there are no real animals or people and that Wraeclast is a fiction? Right?

As far as people with arachnophobia, well, one of the ways you get cured of that is by playing games where you can "safely" interact with them. What does the word safely mean in this context?

It means there are really no freaking spiders on your screen. It's an illusion, a fiction, a fantasy.

So, let us follow the logic. If the spiders are not real than ...

Fill in the blank.

Idk about yall but my ranger wears a destiny leather.

So does my templar.

So basically...
They wear animals.
They kill animals.
They use things animals drop.

But going a step further to capturing them and blending them into a nice concoction in order to get better stuff is somehow out of the question.

These are people who decide upon what human they would kill or let live in order to reap a benefit. There isnt much that eould give them pause.

We already kill gods of nature and animals specifically for quests.

Turning them to special items by keeping them alive a while longer isnt that crazy.

Just because the ranger doesnt quite like doing it doesnt mean she wont. -poor corrupted little creature-

How you are not concern about Your mental health and mental health of those who cannot recognise difference between game/movie/book from reality?

He's trolling pretty hard in this thread, must be having a bad week, parents cut off his allowance or something.

I think he really means what he wrote. And that is sad part.

That is how arguments get done nowadays. I don't agree with you, go away. I won't listen to anything anyone has to say because I am the SUPREME authority. What you say is bullshit because I have proven it is.

In a minute this guy is going to say I stink or some other "witty" remark.

Btw, citing a study saying games affect people's behavior only proves what I say. The mentally challenged among us cannot distinguish from reality and fantasy or there would be no problem.

Assuming you believe in this tripe, I don't. Naturally every time they find a sicko they play violent games. Would you feel better if they sung the theme song to the Sims while they gutted you or blew your head off?

It's very easy for me, unlike "you" the people calling out "PETA" or "ANTI-PETA" i try to understand the position of the people who enjoy the lore and "role" play with it in mind.

I don't personally have any issues with this league, but i'm not stupid so i can empathize with the people who are conflicted from a lore perspective with this league.

And i can distinguish between the fact that people are claiming "PETA" or "ANIMAL RIGHTS HUR DUR" in relation to the game and people claiming it conflicts with the lore and how some characters are portrayed by GGG making this a poor league in that perspective.

I think it's personally acceptable of people to "role play" in an "action role playing game" and then address issue's with a league that doesn't incorporate the lore well.

It's exactly the same as people complaining about end-game that play PoE for that and not for the role-playing expect.

And i do those people the same favor of empathizing with their position to understand them and then formulate my opinion.

Are You aware that those are MENTAL ISSUES?

Refusing to role play your opposite gender is not a mental issue, it's a preference you have for XY reasons. Not liking the Zookeeping aspect of Bestiary is a preference too and stems from RL preferences.

I have more non-mental examples from PoE: some people were troubled by all those "holocaust" bodies in Lunaris (claiming "bad taste"), others by naked tittybitches, by Dominus playing God, someone was offended by the The saint's treasure div card, because it resembles Jesus, others didn't like the Nazi-like symbolism of 3.0... etc. People's perceptions & morals from RL leak into the game, you can't 100% detach from it. Why is this so hard to understand?

Extending my point to the extreme, just for the sake of the argument: would you play a video game of clubbing toddlers to death and not feel anything, because "its just pixels"? I really doubt it.

----
Bottomline:
I don't have a huge problem with Bestiary, will still totally play it, it's just a preference. IMO it's an unattractive premise and something like bounty hunting instead, would be a lot more fun.

Issues with Bestiary and these examples are inherently differently. People who share Charan's opinion have issues with Bestiary because it conflicts with character lore, not because of any RL reason.

But who are we to not indulge in the "anti-peta" bandwagoning going on, forcing their own agenda into this topic?

It's funny and a good waste of my time, the OP should have made that clear, which was clearly bait for just this kind of thing.

"i'm offended by your taking offense to something"

You wot lul mate?
