Multi-Boxing. Finally. The facts.

An advantage being gleened is not really sufficient reason to define it as cheating. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with multiboxing- multiloading a bunch of low level idlers to just improve drops from a boss is kind of silly though.



Honestly the only change I'd like to see is have significant diminishing return on group item quantity bonus if one member is significantly higher leveled then the others- make the penalty only apply to the high level player's item quantity bonus. that way if one high level guy is doing all of the killing he doesn't get the whole 250% bonus item find.


But legitimate multiboxing, where a player is actually comited to using, improving, and gearing 5 characters should have access to the full itemfind bonus- they won't stand much chance at doing so otherwise. getting 3x loot to gear 5x characters doesn't seem to unreasonable to me.

No way is that a good idea. Use of third party programs will skyrocket. At least you can multilog without using other programs. Either both or neither.

Read the first post carefully and then explain how someone can multi-box (not multi-log, different issue) in POE and get "clear" advantages over 1 player + 1 character. How would they play in order to do that?

Lastly, it is ok to not like the concept of multi-boxing. Not everyone agrees, but placing that dislike on the players that try it is a step too far. Don't fear what you don't really understand and have never tried. Too many people have lost their lives in history due to attitudes like that.

But this /6 players idea would add alot of possibilities for the game. One it would add more viable farming for players who enjoy to go solo such as myself. It would also add a new challenge for the more experienced players. Who wouldnt want to watch a stream of a guy soloing a 77 map with a /6players setting.

To be fair, we have discussed in the past, and I was far more belligerant than this person you are needlessly addressing. There's nothing wrong with telling others what you think, it's the intent and how far you'd go with that intent that matters, and not the words people use in frustration. You cannot box a flame, so if that flame occurs, it's because this world isn't vastly known for having any control systems, and rather is infested with corrupt ones. Let people vent, and do not make it sound like venting invalidates their argument, look at politicians, look at how calm and collected they are, are their arguments valid because of it? No. What about the people that are tired of the political crap? I'm sure you already see the faults in your argument.

This was a fair, naturally opposing statement that represents your own thoughts. Whether you added profanity in it or not wouldn't change the idea behind the words, the intent upon writing those profane words is what would create tension in legitimacy. Intent is a very powerful thing, words and ideas aren't even close to being that powerful. Whether or not this person wrote those words specifically to be expressful or outright rude is the real question. There's a lot of words in the dictionary we learn, but can't use because for some reason we have to make words sound worse than they should. This person used the word unscrupulous, this is better than shit, fuck, damn, faggot, smd, nigger, asshole, fuck face, et cetera.

Let them dislike what they want. If they want to be frustrated, then let them. Any child stuck on a math problem is going to throw a fit. Even adults throw fits, and that's because our bodies grow without our brain's advances. Doesn't make them any more stupider. All it means is that they haven't been able to grasp this right now, while you have. You should remember the times when you were as frustrated -- if not more -- than this person, to understand why I'm defending their actions.

Here's some video of me multiboxing. Yes, now all of you detractors can point to me and say "HE DOES IT, HIS OPINION IS INVALID!". I want it known that the reason I did this is to show that multiboxing is NOT easy as has been stated, and is indeed a lot more work than controlling one character.

Also note that this video only recorded the main window used. When I had to switch out a character to reposition it, it stays on the main window.

Note how many time I had to reposition, and how easily characters got out of sync or weren't attacking what the main character was attacking. This is with three characters. With every character added, it becomes harder and harder.

Although multi-boxing has benefits, it is also dramatically harder to maintain unless you DO do the trick where you only port your party in in boss rooms and not during regular gameplay.
