D3 was destroyed by gold farmers and not multiboxers. They put ban waves all the time for that game, but people bot that game more than they ever will multibox.

Well, alot of this companies would not get hurt significantly by that issues.
GGG on the other side has an ethical microtransaction shop which they need to get successful.
I doubt that multi-boxxer/-loader will actually pay anything for their twinks but use more processing resources (insignificantly surely) and hurt there somewhat more the outstanding reputation of this game.
Multiboxers aren't cheap. Most of them, myself included when I've done it in other games, paid retail prices for multiple copies of the same game, as well as multiple subscription fees. They're used to having a higher operating cost than a single player. From personal experience, I think GGG would make more off of a multiboxer than a single player.

And here is more blatant misinformation. Diablo 3 had a BOT problem, not a multiboxer problem.
THEY ARE NOT THE SAME THING.

Thats why I said that that companies won't get hurt by this issue significantly. They still suffer gameplay/population related issues because of multi-boxing being allowed but they still get there money.
GGG however does not get paid beforehand. They need to make the game feel good to new customers. An inflated playground including no public groups and an uncooperative community relying on the needs of 3rd party tools does not advertise the game and will scare potential customers away.
Edit: Also I don't really believe that a multiboxer would pay 20$ on every account for stash tabs. That would be ridiculously unrealistic.

Whether it's difficult or not is ENTIRELY irrelevant. It can be hard to code a good, functional bot, that doesn't mean it's acceptable or not advantageous.
Strawman argument. No one is defending botting at all. It's also difficult to get away with murder, which has as much to do with this discussion as botting does.
There are advantages to multiboxing. There are also major disadvantages. A party of 6 skilled players will always outperform a skilled multiboxer. Always.

Skouros, did you even read the post or instantly go into rage-mode? I stated right at the beginning that I DO NONE OF THE THINGS BEING DISCUSSED IN THIS THREAD.
It is kinda hard to deliver rational thoughts here, since its a quite sensitive topic, I tried few pages before you :D
Before anyone is going to RAGE again, All we trying to say here is that you can have your opinion, have your say, do or not do it, but stop insulting people.
I agree with you that its not easy to pull it off, it could take well over 10 maybe 20 hours to set it up, not to mention its harder to do on HC, and abusivly using the method will result getting bored of the game. (unless for "farmer", then thats a different topic)
and if you a top player i.e Kripp/nugiyen you would just do Maps, or stare at spread sheets.
for the rest, we will progress, compete on ladder, racing, read forums.
If they exhausted all the options in the game, and decided to Multibox then why not?

Now this I can somewhat agree with. The percentage of people multiboxing is FAR smaller than you think it is though.
Honestly, if I was concerned with attracting new players, multiboxing would take a back seat to other things. FFA loot will scare away more people than multiboxing ever will.
As far as the money, I spent over 500.00 for 5 wow accounts + expansions, and 75.00 a month to play it. As much as I love PoE, I'll spend at least a few hundred on it over the course of it's lifetime. I'd be willing to wager most multiboxers would as well.

I'd settle for having a rewarding play experience after only 1 month. However GGG wants to do that I'm fine with it.

You can think of that being a strawman argument all you want. I also agree that a skilled party will outperform a skilled multiboxer. A skilled multiboxer still has significantly more potential than a single character.

I think that FFA loot will only scare away D3 players...which off the top of my head is the only game with inctanced loot. Now I am probably wrong, but that to my knowledge is the only game with personal loot no matter what.
So D3 scared? yeah. WoW, which has FFAish loot that I know of? They know what its all about. D2 is more FFA than this so they aint scared.
