and yes, i understand that you literally said "yes" to rarity determining whether or not something's OP. and then made numerous posts saying just that, while simultaneously suggesting it's out of context.

fact: rarity has nothing to do with something being OP or not. a +89647854 life kaom's heart would be just as strong if one person had it or if everyone was given it upon character creation.

I play a GC miner in abyss, which is a physical spell, and I've paid 20c for a 7% damage upgrade with one of the shaper mods. The item that I initially wanted to buy at that time was one for 100c which was so underpriced, that it got sniped immediately.
So the power isn't exactly disproportionate to its price.

For dual wielding over two hands, I agree to some extent. However, you could get mods like Fortify + up to 134% increased physical damage, which is just 1% short of the T1 regular mod, and you get 5 second Fortify on hit without needing a link.

While I've only looked for one mod to make an example and it's probably still harder to roll a perfect 2H than a useful offhand, it doesn't mean 2H don't get any bonus. My impression was, that the 2H prefixes are more utility based, whereas the 1H mods are damage based.

I haven't seen a 7L 1H or 4 socket item yet, and it's entirely possible that they included a rule to make that impossible to obtain. The overall damage of 2H builds thus shouldn't be inferior to 1H ones by a lot.

As for my statement about diminishing returns from added extra damage: Yes, you get the full damage added, even if you already have added damage. But is the effect on your dps the same? No. You act like 80% added damage will result in 80% more dps, but realistic items will result in 20% at most, and those will still be very expensive.

And since DW builds will only have their stat-stick shaped to have their base damage unharmed, getting 7L utility options doesn't sound like a bad alternative to me.

Oh, another mod that doesn't exist on 1H is the 20% increased attack speed if you've killed recently, resulting in about 40% attack speed (37% with lowest roll in low tier) in almost all situations, which is strictly better than the corresponding regular mod, even from deafening essence crafting. Or Maim Support as a suffix. The highest pdps weapon is at 440, but I'm sure you can roll better, if you spend enough currency.

As for the other conversation: You both seem to be deliberately misunderstanding each other. Items can be both op in general and too powerful considering their availability, which was one of your arguments against 1H over 2H. Whether you call that last part OP or just say the others suck is more of an individual semantic decision rather than a difference of facts.
^I agree on most of things, but one thing you are getting wrong: conditional bonuses like attack speed on shaper weapons are global - not local. This means it isn't exactly 40% attack speed.

@robmafia You are right that things can be OP because of the stats, which I never denied. But feel free to repeat for 100th time that I literally said yes, if it makes you feel better. It clearly does. :)
What you are missing is that rarity is also important. If you think otherwise - feel free to.

bonkers rares that are 'bit' over the top:

5% life on block. The Surrender used to be the best shield in the game. this one scales higher (the soft stats surrender provided are irrelevant in practice - it is that one mod that matters)
assassin/warlord/poacher's mark curses on rings - hey, one more herald,curse for free, youre welcome
each and every GLOBAL 'added as' - these are just stupid. there is no dancing around that, someone simply f.. up and badly

i 'like' how most of the helmet enchants are tailored for GC mines :)


and the 2h mods are garbo - one handers get 'damage added as', two handers have 'converted to chaos'. sure, chaos cannot be reflected (who cares) and can poison (who cares, poison works best with fast bases). not to mention - you HAVE to get your damage from that 2h item. so all available stuff are suffixes at best. so much wow.

1) That mace sucks, stop posting reddit items like they are the shit.

2) The shield sucks because it's 23% block, provides less armor, and only scales if you get enough life. There's not a single shield up right now that comes close to the Surrender.

I have yet to find a decent elder/shaper item.
In the maps i run, i am lucky to find one , and maybe 1 in 10 maps it would be on a decent base.

Just because some people win the lotto for rolls does not mean everyone can get that item.

I would like if the map bosses were guaranteed to drop atleast 1-2 items though.

Everyone knows good rares are much harder to get.
