Latency Spikes. Fixed By Reloading Instances (WinMTR @ Screenshots Included)
" That video is great and shows exactly what I experience. Update from my end. Spoke with my ISP and arranged a static IP. This has been set up both from the ISP and locally on my machine. Still no difference. Also tech support mailed back and said they were too busy to deal with this at the moment due to backlog. For me this has nothing to do with when I play the game. It can happen to any instance at any time. |

Hey there,
Yes I confirm I have the same issue since yesterday. Before that everything was fine. Now it's a lotery at every instance opening. Right now I am leveling a character so it's ok, but I'm afraid of mapping with this bug ! Also, I noticed strange ping repartition of servers gateway. I'm in France and all servers except London are above 60ms ping in logon screen. Paris has the same ping as Moscow ! I'll probably post a screen when I can. But it was not the case before, I used to play with Paris gateway and have a low ping (below 20ms). Last edited by Zankai#4668 on Dec 20, 2017, 2:39:49 AM

Can people with the same issue please post a winMTR test as detailed here:

Here is my WinMTR results while the problem occured :
https://pastebin.com/raw/7A4cEYBm Didn't seem to have great packet losses. A screenshot showing ping while I'm playing : https://imgur.com/a/Br5oh |

" This seems to be the problem, and I also get drops on that IP. 1717.g1.1ug.dc5.as20860.net - 2 | 261 | 256 | 14 | 16 | 119 | 14 | Interestingly enough though I still get drops on that IP when the instance loads up fine. Here's to hoping that GGG tech team manage to look into this a it seems to be an ongoing issue often palmed off onto the ISP when it does not seem to be the ISP at fault. |

" No sign of packet loss on the next hop, though. That makes it more likely that single host is just not responding to diagnostic messages some of the time; that is common with routers, since they don't want to waste time that isn't required on diagnostic stuff when they have real work to do. Y'all don't really show any sign of latency problems either. Zankai, in particular, that WinMTR trace says that you were doing great on the network, so if there is a problem, it comes from something else. I'd take that to tech support, myself, at this point. |

So they can tell you how busy they are and how they cannot help.

Yes I know my connection seems really good, that's why I also posted a screenshot of in game latency to show my problem.
I also put on predictive networking mode, which has a better feeling when I encounter the problem. Instead of a permanent stutering evry second, I sometimes get desync like once a minute. At least it's visually preferable. However for the instances without problems my latency remains constant below 20ms all the time. As a note, this bug also happens in towns. |

" It does seem to be the same issue I am having. The problem is that winMTR and Pingplotter can make it look like it is the ISP due to general routing problems that are accentuated by this other problem related specifically to POE. Your data is especially helpful as it shows that it is not the ISP, rather something else. Hopefully if you email GGG tech support with this thread attached and push for an answer no matter how busy they are, they may finally look into this long running issue. Here's hoping! |
