The average poe player doesnt know what theyre talking about!
OP, the thread title is only partially true!
I'm a far, far, FAR above average PoE player and don't know what I'm talking about either! |

Original D3 inferno managed to cross a line where difficult was too difficult. Instead of properly cheap and unfair where you had to man up and try again, a lot of encounters were just plain unwinnable period or even unavoidable if they rolled the right mods. That and they added instalose rage timers to bosses in a later update so that you couldn't skip the Treasure Goblin/AH grind by using, you know, mechanical skill on story bosses to make up for poor DPS.

" POE isnt becoming anything else. Its getting rebalanced like it did so many times. But who cares, you whiners will play when 3.0 comes out anyways. |

Finally a more rationale discussion.

" A lot of truth here. But thats where teamwork came into play. Go watch first d3 kill (kripp) he had a team. Blizz wanted to encourage teamwork/partying so to beat hardest mods you had to have a good team with complementary auras and such on release. Few understood that and lelt. They did cut rage shortly after. By 1.2 it was totally doable solo but too late and still too hard for many. Teamwork here is a determent no team can beat <1m Strands like solo cam do. Even with MF bonus its a detriment. Few team up on bosses either. Solo is best. Git R Dun! Last edited by Aim_Deep#3474 on May 24, 2017, 12:50:15 AM

Problem is 99% of the vocal people on reddit and this forum are so dumb they should not be allowed to own a keyboard. And yet, they post every 2 minutes in a thread regarding a topic they know nothing about claiming to be experts. And yeah, they are what? 1%? 5%? of the total player base? Fellsbadman #Gun#HowtoRIPaGame. Can't wait for the next complain threads after ES is nerfed. Same idiots with no life who need to mash their fat fingers on their keyboard to have a sense of meaning in life.

"Teamplay was why I quit D3. I felt like I was getting carried by people, not actually pulling my weight. D3 Inferno was designed to force you into the AH market. Trying to play SSF just meant the only viable action you had was farming Goblins (which I didn't do because I genuinely thought they were going to remove that from the game as part of their cruisade to strip players of any sort of option that steered them away from AH so I didn't want to grow to depend on it before it was taken away. Dumb in hindsight, but I was younger and what Blizzard was doing was scary at the time). Last edited by VolcanoElixir#1787 on May 24, 2017, 3:31:40 AM

How about a little less prejudice ?
I'am really getting tiered of this casuals against hardcore, no lifers against the rest of the world. We all are one community and as such we should try to work together to make PoE a better game, period. And to destroy some illusions here, if u believe me that is, the vast majority of those "filthy casuals" are not interested in a game where we get everything we want for free ! What I want and a lot of "experts" (I mean the top streamers) want is a fair challenge. The balance of this game has gotten way out of hand. The DpS achievable is insane. GGG tried that to counter it with game mechanics which I call stupid. Volatiles, for example, as an mechanic is completely counter productive. It punishes only the melee builds, but not the real offenders in this meta of screen clearing spell/projectile meta builds. I see in their manifestos a try to get dps and monster OS mechanics in hand. Will they succeed ? I don't know but people with far more inside knowledge then me hinted there are far more changes to come. Especially in regards of volatiles and reflect. Oh btw I play only life builds cause I don't like the es mechanic as it was once designed and I hate playing "meta builds". Have I ever killed shaper ? Nope ! Am I unhappy about it ? No cause I know I have chosen to play in a way that let me run even t15 with nearly any mods but I lack the dps to actually kill shaper. I'am fine with that but I'am also fine with people who "need" to kill shaper to feel "happy". What I'am not fine about in the current state of the game is that there is actually a meta which resolves only around OS everything and have enough es to avoid being OS by a bullshit mechanic. I would really like if they manage to slow the game down where there is no need to create bosses with phases just for the sake that it won't be oneshotted. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against phased bossfights but I would like it to be part of a intelligent mechanic not a safeguard. I hope they really will tone done damage for players but also change the way monsters threaten to kill you. Let us have interesting fights even in normal maps outside bossrooms and I think this game will do great for casuals as for hardcore gamers. Just my 2 cents Last edited by Seronia#4956 on May 24, 2017, 3:40:00 AM

I loved D3 vanilla.
Inferno was crazy at the beginning. But once we learned how to team up... Sweet. Super challenging, and the reward was progress and a little gear. Sadly, AH was really needed for me, as I was playing Monk Tank, had to get same Res and AllRes on every piece of gear. Not too easy. Still, it was an enjoyment to finally kill Diablo in inferno. Now... Well D3 is dead grind fest. To PoE: Right now I play a cyclone life based. Like 8 Ex or so. Brings me to guardians. Sadly, there is no room for defensive improvements, and Chimera adds tend to one-shot me occasionally... No clue how to avoid that. I love the Es nerf. Last league I played HoWa. Was nearly immortal with awesome dps. No chance achieving that with a melee with same investment. |

" If its the 'snakes': Chaos Res could help Rest is just phys dmg as far as I know, so maybe lightning coil. With 7.5k life, lightning coil and 1 mings heart, nothing in there oneshotted me. |
