[solved] got vdsl 50mbit - strange kind of "latency freezes"
tldr; Turns out AVM released a faulty firmware update (6.53) and i needed to downgrade my fritzbox 3370 to version 6.51.
Hi, so i ugpraded my old 16mbit connection to vdsl 50mbit (deutsche telekom). Latency looks good so far (tried frankfurt, amsterdam, milan) and got 20-40ms. My problem is this: ![]() See this flat line? This is where _nothing_ on my screen happens. Everything is frozen. Either every action taken by me/monsters is processed after the flat line disappears OR i'm kicked to login window. This happens on frankfurt, amsterdam, milan. I was running WinMTR on a second screen and i have zero loss on any hop between me and the severs mentioned in https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/361292. I got a FritzBox 3370 (latest updates) which got some kind of options where i can influence my connection (more performance, more stable) and i tried every option on it. Nothing helped. This happens randomly, sometimes i'm able to do 3 maps in a row without this and sometimes i get this 5 times on one map. Any ideas? Cheers Edit: Win10, i5-7600, 16gb ram, ssd, geforce 1060 gtx, directx 11 beta with multithreading Last edited by loardpcm#1572 on May 13, 2017, 5:14:24 PM Last bumped on May 14, 2017, 3:43:50 AM

Since you recently switched to VDSL you can check out the following setting and switch it on if it isn't:
In your Network Adapter settings (Control Panel, Device Manager, double-click your Network Adapter, Advanced/Settings tab) ensure Flow Control is switched on (On for Rx & Tx) to ensure optimal internet connectivity to your PC. When I switch this off my PC's internet connectivity gets crippled (drops to less than 300 kilobits per second, down from 12 megabits) Note: You may need to install the network adapter drivers from the manufacturers website before you can configure the device properly. " It looks pretty good to be honest :| " I'll check this setting as soon as i'm at home. Other ideas: * try another FritzBox * use an VPN * check if win10 installed updates recently * downgrade nvidia driver, i think i updated it on monday When i'm drunken enough i might tcpdump my network connection while playing and have a look at the traffic. But this won't be fun until i'm realy drunken. Last edited by loardpcm#1572 on Apr 27, 2017, 3:38:07 AM

" This option was already enabled. Edit: * no windows 10 updates where installed on monday or after * downgraded my nvidia driver from 381.65 to 378.66 WinMTR from just now when i got disconnected to login screen: https://nopaste.xyz/?0d90f7a912123a30#QT0dBuj4JP79tr5620/RXIgM3FHqUojcnXuY0rafHdI= WinMTR from 3 minutes later rubberbanding on amsterdam: https://nopaste.xyz/?4c81de6cd5b4d935#mX0/V23G2luy9xwC2fbPnB7CYqBGR11bPJ0DO5hyrxA= Edit2: while switching to vdsl i also switched providers. Those winmtr are from friday where i was still on my telefonica 16k dsl, i didn't have any issues there: https://nopaste.linux-dev.org/?1123790 It is unplayable for me right now. Try to deactivate multithreading in poe ... it seems the reason for those lag spikes. After you mentioned about the Windows update ... yeah it originally started there with my lag spikes. It seems on of those updates messed the harmony with my hardware. When i deactivate the Multithreading, it seems the laggs are nearly non existence.
Edit: Ok i installed my drivers again (clean driver install - using driversweep to clean up the windows update mess) and poe with multithreading runs again like a charm. Clean driver install might help for u after windows update did a big mess with your hardware registry. Last edited by Zodrac#4305 on Apr 27, 2017, 7:49:37 PM

Not OP, but deactivating multithreading doesn't help (on moment of lagspike – https://i.imgur.com/GVLoZPg.png, after lagspike –

So, i've managed to get a a OpenVPN connection on an server in amsterdam which peers directly with amsix so i have not many hops from there to softlayer. I haven't tested it yet if its more stable cause i'm at work but i will test it in the evening.
This is a mtr over 20 minutes from the OpenVPN endpoint to softlayer via amsix: https://nopaste.xyz/?aec390880a5bc928#e2K61Vp4Kc/jj23zKcbONGMOPnQjCxAtxRjqr0CUXkU= Its all nice and stuff besides some short spikes to 184. My current opinion is: NETWORKLAYER/SOFTLAYER FIX YOU SHIT Edit: guess i have to wait my friend didn't send me all keys for openvpn Edit2: 2017/04/28 19:35:36 84880656 437 [INFO Client 6476] Abnormal disconnect: An unexpected disconnection occurred. Edit3: https://nopaste.xyz/?b5770aac0fd4cbf7#y4qfmAsX7QXvlONdLHXuOb2ShodjRXBhzrspFqz6d6s= This is winmtr from right now from deutsche telekom to amsterdam. If you compare it with the mtr from the box at ams-ix it looks like po1.fcr01.sr01.ams01.networklayer.com has some issues.
