An open letter to casuals asking to dumb down the game or make rare items more common

Please stop.

If you have less time to play, expect to get fewer items or be lower level.

Ps. Yes, that is my letter. Because quite frankly this is how simple this issue is. .-.

EDIT:

To expand a little more what I'm talking about:

Recently, I see a lot of topics asking to increase the drop rate of certain items. There is arguing that you cannot buy things, because you cannot gather currency, since good drops are too rare, and so on. I'd expand a little bit about that, mainly that increasing the drop rate decreases the price of given item, meaning you won't be gaining any more currency anyways... but lets stay on the topic at hand.
There are tons of new people coming to PoE. Yes, PoE became popular, and now there are masses of people who'll experience the tutorial-less, crude and merciless environment of PoE.
Most of them won't come to the forums. But some will. And many of them will ask to dumb down the game, because they don't seem to hit the mark as the other people, be it streamers, their friends, or whoever else.
If you are one of these people, I ask of you: don't do that. If you are new, you are playing casually and don't care to get into the game, don't expect to be as good at the game as people who spend more time with it. And no, it is not for you to judge whoever has right to spend how much time the game. If you have a life, then please, go have it and don't use your family (or any other kind of life you have) as an argument in changing a video game. It is pathetic, it should never happen.

And no, I'm not saying this to people who play casually and are fine with the game. There is nothing wrong in playing casually and being casual. Many people around here can play casually and have valid opinions about the game. But please, when it comes to whenever the game can be enjoyed by hardcore (I hate that term, I'd prefer people who spend more time with the game, but that is kind of long), let us have to which we subscribed to from the very beginning.

Thanks!

this game is already too dumbed down. i'd pay to be able to play an earlier version again.

Mathematician chiming in. Fewer.

People confuse a cardinal number with a continuum all the time. Fewer applies to a cardinal. Time less. You can't have 5 times. You can have 5 items. "Fewer" applies to things you can count. You can't have "fewer" money, but can have "fewer" coins.

can you count infinity? ; so to connect with concept of infinity is less? If you can't count items (being both physically unable or not having data) can it become less items? Instead of fewer.

Also if it keeps the meaning of subject at hand, nobody can make you use other words, too.

I tried finding linguistic science articles about it, but there are none, as rules are being set by few people, and usage usually finds its way into lingua viva more than set of rules.

If you can count items as concept, then I will agree, it is fewer, until then its less imho.
