Personally I think there is an issues with the Void Bearer (blue dogs in the docks) if they have the attriubute +additional projectiles they do absolutely Massive damage and can melt my 3500+ effective life in just a second or two. Now maybe they do mixed damage but in a previous post by a dev he said they where mobile Flame turrets, so I took that to assume their damage is only fire. But with 77 fire resist it's a fast death.
*Edited with correct enemey name lol*

actually its completely the opposite. If there is a point where you can simplly faceroll everything ingame with ease (aka D3) then people get bored and quit.
The way mechanics are designed in PoE there will always be a challenge for you, hardcore will *always* be hardcore, it doesnt get watered down to cakewalk softcore when you reach a certain power threshold.
As for the GMP fireball spam, people are exaggerating. I have 77 fire resist, 2k HP and 1K ES, and i take fireballs from the mobs at bottom of lunaris temple on a regular basis tanking them on my witch while i kill them with firestorm (and proceed to raise them as spectres).
If your talking about PvP instead, 1HKO's are an absolute must unless you want every fight to boil down to an endurance match of flasks and natural regen/kiting.
I don't know if you were around but the reason D3 lost thousands of people was because everything was one shotting players in inferno. People left en masse because of an unreasonable stat based challenge. It was only after the devs added monster power to the game and put the difficulty setting in the hands of the players that the population began to stablize.

Exactly. When you have random mobs 1-shotting players that have went exclusively for life and resists, a lot of people will ragequit. It's not like we're talking about bosses, we're talking about random mobs.
