If you have 1k to spend on a video game, is 2.5k really out of your price range? Shouldn't because if you have 1k to spend on one item in a video game then your financial situation SHOULD be excellent.

No matter if it's for a unique design, food or whatever - when I see the price was raised by 150% it makes me reconsider.
Some people also might have paid the 1000$ despite not being rich, but having just enough (money, love for the game, need for an ego boost - choose as many as you want). Those people would feel the difference for sure.

Comparing a price increase in the cost of designing a unique item in an otherwise completely free to play video game with increases in the price of food, a basic human necessity, is absurd.

No, it's really not, at least not for me.

2500 bucks for digits on screen? No comprende.
It's just pixels and if a person could spend 1000$ for a item in a free to play game good on them. It is not an investment it is a gift to the game they love; then OK by me. And if they can drop a grand it wouldn't out of their league to drop 2500.

People are free to do what they want with their cash and we all benefit from more donations to GGG.

If someone wants to spend $2.5k to make a unique that no one uses and trades for 1 alt - then who are you guys to say otherwise?

'donations' are one thing, but its not like we are talking about a charity organization trying cure the internet of trolls or something.

i mean lets be serious here. you can't call it a donation if you get something in return. this is still 'buying' things. which buying a unique for $2,500 makes you the national equivalent of the village idiot.

How so? If someone can afford to spend that kind of money on something they enjoy, who are you to call them an idiot for doing so? Do you have no hobbies that you have ever spent money on? Also, $2500 may be a lot to some, and to others is nothing.

so what you are saying is people are free to spend whatever they want on stuff. however, no one is free to have an opinion. nice work.

if i want to call people idiots for spending $2.5k on pixels, which in all likelihood is not even going to help them with enjoying the game (like more stash or a nice MTX would). then i am definite free to do that. also, it seems i am not alone here if you haven't noticed. there are plenty of people here in this thread that have expressed the opinion that this is pretty stupid.

also, no i dont go drop $2.5k on 'hobbies' that are related to something useless that are pixels. hobbies that i have are practical in nature. which means they have a real application in real life. so if i DID decide drop some money on something then it would actually be helping me in the real world.

Someone pay the 2500 already and make a Lvl 1 unique that gives 10,000 flat life and 75 all resist. There life fixed.
"muh pixels" is not an argument though. My most valuable assets are all virtual.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
would i ever spend it? absolutely not, but i was in that boat when it cost 1k as well.

either way we wanna talk about it, it is very understandable they raised the price. people were in contact with ggg for years designing uniques and balancing them. i can't imagine how much time was wasted doing it compared to just making their own.
the price being raised may hurt how many people make uniques, but i bet thats half the point. lets get a little more quality than quantity with unique items i this game
