Making a unique now costs $2500, up from $1000

If someone wants to spend $2.5k to make a unique that no one uses and trades for 1 alt - then who are you guys to say otherwise?

'donations' are one thing, but its not like we are talking about a charity organization trying cure the internet of trolls or something.

i mean lets be serious here. you can't call it a donation if you get something in return. this is still 'buying' things. which buying a unique for $2,500 makes you the national equivalent of the village idiot.

How so? If someone can afford to spend that kind of money on something they enjoy, who are you to call them an idiot for doing so? Do you have no hobbies that you have ever spent money on? Also, $2500 may be a lot to some, and to others is nothing.
U MAD?
At one point in time, a couple of my friends and I thought about pooling a 1000 dollars to pay for the opportunity to design a unique, but considering all the backlog, as well as how useless most uniques are these days and how often the good ones are nerfed, this higher price tag is just the nail in the coffin to our "glorious" idea.
gimme money bitch
thats more than my employees make in a month :)
If that will make good and awesome uniques - im 100% agree, so many vendor uniques that players was asked just unreal. This is really good idea.

We'll maybe from now on, 2500 unique will be worth a shit.

Want QoL?

2500 dollars little man
Put that shit in my hand.
And now there's going to be even more pressure on those who choose to do this.

If people were salty about a levelling or otherwise not-overpowered supporter unique before, they'll be two and a half times saltier.

Really 2500$ is cheap? what are you people millionaires ? xd

Pretty damn cheap if you compare to the effort it would take for you to apply for a job at GGG, get the job and then climb up the ranks up to the point you can steal the job from whoever who design the uniques at GGG. Only then you could create your own poe unique.

It's a realistic amount but also a much more dissuading one. $1000 was a no brainer if you could afford it, especially considering you also got $1000 worth of GGGold, an avatar, a very exclusive pet, a bunch of signed merch and a title. $1500 was the same, just a bit more expensive.

$2500 flat for just a design indicates they're open to the notion but clearly aren't "selling" it anymore.

They should have made it a limited number offer to begin with, as with kickstarter high tiers.

Anyway, that amount is fair given the work that goes into a unique design, and the commitment on the supporter's behalf to work with GGG rather than for or against.

Would I do it? Fuck no. Not now. The game is entirely too complicated to do much more than give GGG a rough idea of your item and let them balance it from there.

Yes, but was $12,500 a no brainer?

People spend money on stupid shit all the time. That's the whole point of something being a luxury.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
