Going to Console was a bad idea.

Then you've completely missed the point.

I'd agree that something like the specific use stash tabs were introduced due to influence of the console version of the game.

But a specific use stash tab, while nice, is not one of the things players have been screaming for since closed beta. There are still countless suggestions, ideas, and improvements that were discussed-a few of them GGG even mentioned having been placed on a list.

Where are those fucking promises? Oh, not here? No money for you GGG. Fuck you, since you said fuck me.

It is GGG's problem. Not mine.

Technical as in async loading, lockstep, x64, dx11

Huh?

A proper post might help.

Console port didn't start until 2015, so no, not all technical improvements were due to it. And the console port was done with a team working on DX11, which has nothing to do with networking improvements like lockstep and async loading.

well, you know that these things are STANDARD right now? adding them is not doing something extra or unheard of. it is finaly catching up

there is a LOT of catching up to be done before you can call this game 'modern' in the tech department and its performance 'justified' by how the game looks and what it does. lag during breaches (that i can experience thanks to vaal breach gem in standard) is anything but modern

as for the 'xbox and PC players will have completely separate servers'. fun stuff.. ive heard this before (garena)
Actually its a really good idea from a revenue experience without actually dumbing down the content of the game. However its going to be the same thing as FPS games, where you are basically handicapped if you play on console

They have to do this because playing without a mouse is a huge handicap

people played namelock melee when there werent clear better alternatives.
some of the earlier HC players were using heavy strike against scariest (back then) bosses in OB.

your hate for namelocking and love for aoe is clouding your memory. ironically, aoe is a huge problem in todays game.
Why is everyone crying about this? Listen! Just keep playing on PC. No one is forcing you to play on Xbox. Find something important to complain about like world hunger or homeless veterans. I plan to keep on playing on PC. If it fails on Xbox then it's on GGGs' Hands. Not yours.

You understand that literally no one is feeling like they're being forced to play on Xbox, and that has absolutely nothing to do with their concerns, right?

A lot of people have pointed out that this has been a fatal decision for a lot of companies/games that made the same leap. I share that concern. But really, the worst part of it is that clearly we've been getting "console balance" and "console skills" for much longer than you realize. It's probably why I (and others) have been feeling less and less inclined to play.

You confuse "crying" with "valid concerns". If you read some of the posts you'd perhaps understand what the problems are.

The classic "No one is forcing you..." is a phrase that I'd very much like to disappear from any and all discussions regarding anything and everything. Basically, no one is forcing you to join these discussions at all. See what I did there?

Then what are you doing here? Don't you have more important things to do? Or could it perhaps be that you had your daily quantum of important matters dealt with already?

If it fails on Xbox, it will be a lot of money wasted. Money that we spent. Money that is not going to be invested in the PC version. And in a worst case scenario this can cost GGG so much money that the version we are palying will decline more than it already has.

This is the first time in the history of POE that I can think of, that we, the customers, paid for development time that is obviously spent on something other than what we are playing. Of course that's an issue when you consider how this game currently lacks polish.

The nerve some people have... Unbelieveable...

If you have a game that is currently exclusive to a system where you have easy access to many, many buttons that grant access to many, many actions, what happens when you copy it onto a system where you have very limited access to very few buttons?

Outcome 1: Both games develop along separate paths. While "my" game remains the same, less effort is allocated to working on it (be it development or improvement) because there is another game that requires work.

Outcome 2: The game dumbs down to cater to the "lesser" system because the company wants the same game across systems. "My" game is no longer "my" game, it is now someone else's.

Outcome 3: Console doesn't get Path of Exile. Not likely.

Not that hard to think things through.
