Going to Console was a bad idea.
Computer games and console games have to vastly different ways of balancing things out.
On a computer, I can easily set up macros, make use of mouse-keyboard, and have various things running in the background. It could be a livestream of someone I'm fighting on the other screen so I know where they are or have been, it could be a wiki page, it could be a customized list of relevant information I need for the level I'm on, or it could be a youtube video of Critical Role while I mindlessly play a game. It could be anything. Meanwhile, a console uses a TV screen that displays more detail-no I don't mean graphical detail, I mean "informational detail", like a larger display of someone's barrel tip hanging out or more space between grass so I can tell if someone's boot is sticking out. However, my controls are far more restricted in that I must use my thumbs for just about everything, so it takes longer to click my direction pad or triangle/square/circle/whatever and A/B/X/Y. Consoles have always been meant for immersion. Computers have always been more about competitive gameplay. A mouse can "snap to" a lot better than a stick can. GGG, you're making a huge mistake splitting your efforts like this. I highly doubt the revenue you'll gain will be worth it in the long run. To me, this is a slap in the face about all of the things you have promised to do. Changes that need to be made, to the PC-version now, that will be put of longer because you will have to maintain a console version. I won't be spending any more money on any of your products for quite some time. Last bumped on Jan 22, 2017, 9:45:48 PM

their claim is that skill and game development was influenced by console compatibility since quite some time now and while i can see it in skill development, i can't see it in other areas like item micromanagement and boss fights.
i don't want to play a console game as i hate them out of principle (those you have mentioned and just clicking the right button on the right time instead of clicking on the right spot on the screen on the right time) and every step they do now will be rightfully criticised as being made for consoles rather than pc. to be honest, the whole "console release" issue took alot of my enthusiasm away. it's an eye opener which changed the way i see the game now when i play it. can't help it. i think i need some time to think about the whole issue. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

I'm wondering how they are going to deal with totem placement and minion targeting.
Just a straigth line in front of the character at a 'n' distance ? lol .... SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Jan 20, 2017, 3:53:27 AM

" but the long list of your supporter packs have helped this development significantly. arent you happy? people were saying for LONG time that this game goes downhil and goes quickly. the strange priorities, the 'forgotten' promises (trading, performance etc), the forced dx11 shadows (we are guinea pigs, unpaid testers for xb1 version), the 'balance', the complete and utter sh.. the melee is (there wont be any melee with controler, there will be weapon based AOE spells) etc etc some out there knew that something afoul is going on since years. but they were always whitekinighted to death so here we are, being lied to and asked for more support at the same time. some will fall for it. but i think you are not the only one that opened his eyes. and this is the reason why this stuff was in hidding for 2 years. most wouldnt have paid to support this. it is very very shaddy stuff. comparable to AAA major gaming companies class of shaddy stuff |

" I cannot disagree with this at least. I don't regret having supported until now tho. Not that I will spend more money I think. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Jan 20, 2017, 4:16:03 AM

I'd definitely look at the game differently, if I knew they are making a console port in parallel. All those weird design decisions are now "making sense", hmm...
I can't regret giving them money, tho. I consider that a backward payment on fun, more than an investment in future development. If I'll support again, depends on how much fun I'll have in 3.0 (if you have the option never pay in advance, always in retrospect) When night falls She cloaks the world In impenetrable darkness Last edited by morbo#1824 on Jan 20, 2017, 4:29:31 AM

" With the exception of my closed beta supporter pack (since I was hoping it was enough to get the game out of closed beta and go beyond, which it did so already), that is how I been approaching the whole "supporting GGG" with the packs. I will continue to have the same mindset with 3.0 and beyond that. Of course, that depends if I can afford to spend money when that happens since I am on tight budget at the moment. They're gonna have to pull some minor miracles to get me to support again.

I just bought bought the DRM free version of Grim dawn and all expansions from GOG. Ima take a break. Everything is getting console already in this game, the arcade like aoe power creep which console players love, the directional targeting "melee" skills like blade flurry and new channeling skills since pin point skills are hard on consoles. Design decisions will be console vetted making PoE like the great PC games before it the were put on console worse off and further away from a traditional ARPG. 100% guaranteed.

" I agree with this but have no regrets. Unlike most I only bought packs well after they came out and I was happy or reasonably satisfied with the product. I never buy into hype. Some packs I didnt buy at all or lessor versions of packs like awaking pissed me off selling beta even though I was "in" but I liked the cali servers knock my ping from 200 to 80 so I got the cheap one. My purchases was more for services rendered than an investment in the future because I know business is business and GGG coulda shut down at any time like a local gym you paid for a year and they go bankrupt, or got worse at any time. Other times I just needed more tabs and the packs offered best value with pts and MTX. Anyway I wouldnt change a thing I got value, thousands of hours of entertainment for about $600. Can't beat that. It's time to to take a break now though because a lot of issues I had with game are explained now by consolization they have been working on 2+ years and I feel will only get worse, just like PC games who ported before(dragon age, CoD series, elderscolls series, diablo series etc).
