EXALTED ORB Price Shenanigans [Delirium] 127:1 What is even going on?

i think they're a minor factor. they have a higher impact than one individual, but for them to have the majority factor like people say in this thread (act as though they're the only factor and without them exalts would still cost 80c) they'd have to consist of like 75% of all online accounts.

this clearly is not true.

chaos fall from the sky. they rain down like crazy since incursion and delve. this devalues them because they're so common.
exalts have crazy great uses now-a-days compared to previously. this gives them more value.

exalt value goes up, chaos value goes down. guess what? the ratio changes.

im not saying bots don't have any effect. they do for sure but how much? i bet if all bots were banned forever the exalt ratio would go from 195c down to maybe...160-170c.

i think the ratio would again go back up afterwards as well.

You could be right, but they’re a great scapegoat :)

Also the issue doesn’t really stem from the chaos:ex numerical ratio, it’s more the relative affordability of gear. People are still pricing gear as if an ex is 120:1 or so. I caught myself doing the same thing.

When markets are volatile, nobody knows what anything is really worth. But on the other hand, I do understand why sellers don’t constantly adjust prices based on the currency markets: it’s impractical, nobody would even understand that they need to do it; and it actually leads to further instability.

*shrugs* the end result is that 4ex Pandemonius I want is just getting more and more out of reach (I’m poorer than usual this league).

thing is, prices DO adjust to the ratio - significantly and quickly.

xoph's bloods are dropping under 2 exalts now. 6 link unique armors are below 3 exalts. etc etc etc.

pandemonius specifically is a higher price than usual because of other factors, not just because "its always 4ex but now exalts are more expensive making it overpriced".
its way more popular this league, and for good reason. with the reworks to cold spells and cold damage over time multipliers etc.


exalts are always super cheap early league which is another reason why they keep climbing up in price mid to end league. more and more people are getting to farming currency, exalts and chaos. there is way more people wanting to exalts a month in than there is a week in - and way more people able to do chaos recipe/sell regular crap for chaos etc.

there are so many natural factors to fluctuating and rising exalt prices that to just say "bots" is so beyond ridiculous to me - but hey thats the rhetoric.

I actually pm-ed top 20 people selling for 170-175, even some at 178, none of them are actually selling.
