What the fuck is so important in the interaction between seller and buyer anyway?
This went way off track.
I'm fine with poe.trade being the way it is, I don't need or want an AH.
But I do want something like poe.trade to be in the actual fucking game.

nothing important , its just an excuse since they cant figure out a proper trading way for the game witout self destruction

We all do man, we all do.
That is all i want, to not have to alt tab to buy an item, implemented into the game it would still retain player interaction, it would just be a hell of a lot more convenient.

Heres why auction houses are cancer.

1. This is a free to play game, bots are free to be created as many times as someone wants. Even paid subscription based games cant deal with them (World of Warcraft as an example). What makes anyone think GGG has the income or company resources to start dealing with cancerous botting ? They dont, even if they did it wouldnt stop them, not even subscription based pay to play games stop them.

2. Bots buy all good items instantly and relist to flip (or if theyre good enough the user keeps them).

3. You no longer can get a good deal on any items because bots are ruling over the market place, all day, every day, instantly. Humans cant do that. I dont know about you but i love finding good deals and getting an item cheap, thats part of the fun of looking through things yourself and being the first one to find them.

4. Further hyper-acceleration of all aspect of the game. The faster you gear, the faster you level, the faster you get burnt out after obtaining that gear. Perandus is an excellent example that shows what happens when you give away the best gear in the game. People get it, instantly get burned out and then stop playing.

5. It directly incentivizes and protects RMTers, and botters.

6. RMT is encouraged because it not only make it easier to hide a RMT transaction but it also makes it impossible to truly "prove". You cant punish other users who might also buy an RMTed item later on down the road if that user ends up reselling it. This leaves items that would normally be lose to bans, freely roaming the market for all eternity further exacerbating the issue of surplus in leagues.

7. It also makes RMT easier by protecting the users. You no longer have to trade directly soo you now are protected from being scammed by a third party.

8. As said above with RMT, this also applies with people cross league trading in leagues they arent supposed to.

But yeah lets add in all these problems, kill the game because whiners want their way. POEs market in china is shit hints why there still isnt a trace of it in main realm either. Markets/AH are bad for games and anyone advocating them are the same people who leave a bot on all day to play the game for them.

We don't need an AH, and I'm pretty sure most people just refers to it as such because the lack of other common term properly describing poe.trade. "Item Indexers" is not familiar to everyone's ear. For me personally, I just want GGG to handle poe.trade, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against XYZ, the guys who made the site did something amazing for this game, and all props to them.

They don't want an AH. Isn't it obvious?

They tolerate poe.trade, because without it, a huge chunk of players would be upset/quit/whatever. That's why they have to embrace working together to a point. Hiring them is another thing entirely. Short trip from there to D3.

So they tolerate an AH, which is poe.trade.
They know pretty much their entire playerbase is using it.
They also know that if it goes away, so does the playerbase.
And yet they refuse to add something like poe.trade to the actual game.
Someone needs to explain this to me.
Use small words.

No one here will be able to give you a coherent, logical argument regarding this, man. poe.trade is, in essence, an auction house without a buyout setting. The playerbase has this absurd, Monty-Python-esque belief that poe.trade is NOT an auction house and doesn't want an in-game auction house. They'll call an "item indexer", "data collection index", "trade facilitator", all sorts of semantic, euphemistic horseshit.

The real, pragmatic reason why PoE doesn't have an auction house is that poe.trade does the job for them, they don't have to devote programming hours into developing an auction house, and GGG gets to front a bullshit principled stance of sticking to "no auction houses".

It's absolutely fucking absurd, but there it is.

poe.trade isnt even remotely close to an auction house nor even remotely close in functionality. The only one with the absurdity here is the one assuming it is an auction house.

I'm entirely convinced that staunch disbelief that poe.trade isn't an auction house is a meta troll/meme for the game.
Then you probably need a tin foil hat then, buddy :^]
