IS RNG really that BAD?

It's probably been mentioned already but PoE is a lottery game since there is A LOT of random factors.

It's not really a grinding game other than character and gem leveling (and maybe other things I might missed) but orbs and items drops are all luck based, some have higher chance to drop and others have less chance to drop.

Is that a fair system? maybe not, a lot of people complain that PoE is too luck based.

If you grind long enough, probability becomes certainty. It's all in the math.

Most of games that include a part (may that be a small or big part) of grinding include RNG.

The feeling you get when getting lucky in those kind of games is amazing, and makes you want more. Pretty simple. As long as it happens ONCE, you will be always looking for it even if you go through bad luck periods.

This "addictive feeling" is so easy to create and brings a lot of people, who are actually unconsciously looking for this. As I am.

But don't fret, if you're unlucky now, you will be tomorrow, not going into details but I was unlucky as fu** last league, 1 week in Breach and I've been more lucky than in 3 months of Essence.

It always turn around at some point, many pointed it out before, time is everything.

And by the way there still is ways to grind without relying on luck. Chaos/GCP/Jeweler's recipes all the way, it's of course a lot longer, but it's something if you stick to it. (I actually wonder if a lot of ppl do it, it's been so helpful to me tbh)

The only way to beat the RNG is to keep on going.

Thing is, if you clear a T14 map in 5 minutes, compared to someone who does it in 15, eventually you might have the same hours played but, you'd have higher "chance" of obtaining more currency.

I for example have played 96hrs and 6 minutes EA Pathfinder, and I've so far found 9 exalted orbs (ss-ed em all), The Doctor card, a few expensive uniques and a few expensive rares.

Quite lucky this league, as opposed to 5 previous ones. As you keep "spinning the wheel" eventually you'd luck out. It's just like trying to 6L things. Plenty of videos of ppl using just 1, few leagues ago I did a few in 50. These few months I've never gone under 1400.

That's the beauty of this game, you never know what and when XD

Prophecy Leage was the last time i played and found about 7 exalts and some very good items with Liftings Frost Nova build. I didn't do much mid/high maps with the first char but a lot of lowie maps with insane clearspeed. I guess pushing content isn't the way to go but chain farming low maps.

I got 2 exalts in 2 days this week- first time that's ever happened to me. Pretty sweet, I was able to trade for some great gear.

Kinda sure you could win the lotto faster with rng then this game

I only found 2 exalts this far. The second one was 1 alch investement into a white arcanist strongbox... but chaos recipe (unided and ided with essences for missing gear) has been good to me :)
