Not sure how this topic digressed into this name-calling and yelling stuff back and forth...
As for the topic, for the first two years I played this game I felt like I was a victim of bad rng. Never had characters that made it to late game maps (high tiers) and always felt like I would never have a decent character. I soon came to realize that my approach and attitude was wrong. If you are waiting for an exalt to drop, you are like the person that is using lottery tickets as their retirement plan. At the end of the day, you may or may not get lucky in terms of currency. HOWEVER...one thing is certain: It tends to level out over time. What I do now is try to farm efficiently. Focus on clear speed. If you don't get good drops: Chaos recipe is great to get good seed money for buying one piece of gear at a time. To be fair that is my fall back when shit isn't going right (for example this league). Will you gear up as fast as lucky people? Nope. BUT with the addition of so many new things that in the game, there is much opportunity to sell things. Divination cards, Labryinth carries, Act 4 rushes.... Find something people don't like to do and make a method to monetize it. You will be very successful. Remember this is a grinding game. You will not (on average) get all of your gear in a few days. If it doesn't come right away, don't stress and just keep pushing forward. You will eventually be at your desired power-level. However, nine times out of ten people just get frustrated with the pace at which they feel their power increasing. If you are impatient, this is not the game for you. Relax, have fun and good things will come. :) |

" That's my general motto too. :-) " That's sort of counter productive to your closing statement of relaxing and having fun. ;-) I don't bother with clear speed. Ever. I've found two exalts during my year of casual PoE gameplay, with having spent one and have another in inventory. As such I've certainly been a victim of the RNG. Of my 5 characters, my combined /played of my oldest 2 characters is 23 days, 17 hours. So that's roughly 12 days or 288 hours of gameplay per exalt drop, given a 2 exalt total. I play rather casually with slow clear speed and progression. Compare that to a flipper/farmer who would have taken that 288 hours to churn out many, many exalts, and you'll see how the RNG punishes the *real* players and rewards the farmers. Weighting RNG for all top-level currency can only help the average player. And perhaps weighting over time instead of drop count would be more beneficial? As I've mentioned before, only GGG knows how this will truly affect the market and drop rates overall. We can only speculate. And keep in mind, I'm not complaining about my drop rates, as I just play for fun, not for meta or clear speed. I just think a different drop algorithm for exalts and high-level currency would help the more casual players among us. Because my gameplay so far is a testament to that, especially when compared to farmers and their exalt drop rate. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

" No it really isn't. Building for clear speed is no different than building for max block or building for high dodge. It's just a different way to play the game. After a while fast dried lake runs where you're charging from mob to mob becomes fairly relaxing. Not everything fast is stressful. I think it would be disingenuous to say that fast clear speed and relaxing can't be use in the same sentence. |

" I should probably rephrase that. Perhaps fun for you, but not fun for me, ever. I play for relaxation and escape from reality, and can't really enjoy any focus on clear speed. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
