To OP:
You give too much importance to virtual things that are not owned by you and that has a futur that is not relevant to you. Enjoy things like they are and if you don't enjoy them anymore then find something else to do. Why would you care if the game die at all ? Isn't it supposed to be just a hobbie to spend some time relaxing after work and weekends ? |

People get angry when they don't feel as excited about playing a game s they did when they first started. They want their "high". But you get tired of doing the same thing over and over again. Take a break, find something else to get a new high on, then maybe someday come back to play it again. That's what I did... but I have to admit, things seem to get so complicated. I mean I still don't know what Ubers are, what Atziri is or how you get to her (it?), no clue what perandus league did, or even understand the current Essence league. I don't play leagues... just standard. But it's all good... I'll play til I gt bored again and then stop. |

Meanwhile, the game's Steam chart would make an amazing design concept for a Six Flags attraction. Yeah, the game is doing completely fine, guys. It's totally normal for a game's community to drop 20-50% a month, then shoot up 200-300& for a day before immediately starting to drop again. This is totally sustainable and healthy because it's worked so far, clearly it will work forever.

" You know you can, like, buy runs for Merc and Uber labs, right? They're fucking cheap. Uber lab runs cost an Offering and a handful chaos, tops. Tough luck for self sound players. You make my ochinchin go doki doki. Last edited by GooberM#3961 on Nov 3, 2016, 2:27:36 PM

" Worked for D2 for 10 years with ladder resets. Works for most AAA games that release PAID content and DLC every couple months. If you look at any game over a long period of time, it's either going to go up for a while than down and never come back up; or it's going to go up and down for a while until devs stop supporting it. I'm not sure how you think it could go up infinitely to be honest. |

Well, here is my perspective. Guild I joined last League was quite lively during Prophecie. 10-15 out of 20 or something guildies were alwaays online and playing. In the begining of the League 4 or 5 people were playing but after week 1 or 2 - Guild become pretty much ghost town. Nobody is playing except me from time to time. And one guy who appears once per week for an hour or so. And during Prophecie my quildies were active pretty much till the end of the League.
Same for a lot of friends - my trade buddy quit, new guy I met in the end of the Prophecie - quit, guy who I met when seeking for Uber Carry - almoust don't play these days, etc. Some friends are still playing but my friendlist sure seems pretty sad nowadays. So to be honest, I kinda see what OP is talking about. |

" Not this dramatically and not with this frequency. Yes, game populations fluctuate and new content can cause that, but PoE is doing this on a ridiculous scale, and GGG has let themselves become a slave to the 3-month cycle. Without crapping out a new gimmick to excuse a reset every three months, this game would be history. This is a buff™

Another factor is that for a lot of people real life takes over at some point. They get demanding jobs, settle down and have a family. Some nevertheless reserve a bit of leftover spare time for PoE, the majority however can't and won't.
At least that's my experience with some people that are on my friend list and left for these very reasons. Last edited by visibledark#0732 on Nov 3, 2016, 3:01:45 PM

" Still, since it is the only game in my knowledge that toss around as much content as any other game,if this continues on,it will be steady for a long time. Moreover,it kept me here all this years,so thats something :) Bye bye desync!
