poe.trade is a major security threat for path of exile player

Used the site a few times tonight seemed like most of the lag adds got removed.

Gotta give xyz lots of credit for running that site cause I'm sure it isn't even close to easy.
flash is bad as fuck we all know it.

most of these ads are coded in flash with flash content running.

even if adobe intended those adds to be incapable of harm
their software is legendary for its catastrophically ad hoc
construction and any control over its boundaries in ram.

they have just never fixed it have never been able its just
fundamentally structured wrong. some sort of spaghetti code.
whole fucking whack of goto statements. closed source obviously
or reddit and a swarm of linux coders would have fixed it by now.

no one monitors the shadier depths of the web (free hosting)

so wear your protection.

we dont disable flash because we need it in a lot of places
where even if it is exploitable, the providers of the page we are
on are not suspect. ex GGG uses some flash.

we tend to spend most of our time on trustworthy sites, where a known
flash vulnerability is never executed in your browser. because cnn.com
and google.com and ggg, and all the rest do not want to attack you.
and the high level adverts that meet standards similar to youtube can
be trusted because there is a LOT of money to lose... these guys have legit
advertising contracts from legit companies.

the shadey motherfuckers tho....

free web hosting, video hosting, free porn, free whatever. free web storage.
these guys are not hosting ads for ford motor company.

disable these adds.

how to morally use an add blocker? tell it to block no one... then you meet a shitty
site that you want to use... free web hosting or something. disable ads on that host
manually. you know they are spewing hostile adds. ford would file suit against any
advertiser that attacked clients in its name. none of these fly by nighters care.

I'm using NoScript, AdBlock Plus, and Flashblock.
The only two scripts that I need running are the ones that say "Forbid" in front of them, the rest are trash.

I didn't know there were ads in poe.trade until OP brought it up
The countless times I mistook my MTX pet for prey... huehehehe
