Actually, this post is to inform players about the threat they can encounter using poe.trade.

Today you basically need ad-block to surf the internet relatively safely.

Protect yourself, get uBlock Origin, works both for Chrome and Firefox (and also Firefox on Android)

While I kinda agree that sites should get ad revenue if they want it, it's a bit like unprotected sex...enjoyable(!), but ultimately dangerous.

I do think this is a huge problem for GGG however, poe.trade is the de-facto trade site for POE, no matter that people say "it's optional", and alternatives exists. This cannot continue. This proves that another solution must be implemented, and soon.

GGG, you are, trough "forced" use of 3rd-party sites, infecting your players with malware.

Nothing additional to add. But yes, I have been experiencing everything everyone here has the past week or two. Will try to ad-block it tonight when I get on.

Ok...weird...forum somehow errored and at my response to this. What I said was that you don't work in the IT field or with clients/businesses/customers who browse the Internet/forums without any form of javascript/adblock protection. Believe me, A LOT of people don't use this stuff, mostly because they don't know it exists, and people don't realize they can have a much better time on the NEt without all the ads.

I tried to turn off my add blocker on poe.trade at first too, but had to turn it back on when the adds played sound. Random downloads would be worse. I recommend ublock origin also, like others have said.
