hey guys Im back on PoE since a really long time and im trying this build. noob question: can someone explain to me how elemental overload works with controled destruction? Am I not understanding something? 40% dmg if youve crit in the last 8 seconds but cant crit with controled destruction?

Yeah I'm wondering this too. I don't really understand what gems exactly I should use.

I'm now in Cruel A1 and flameblast doesn't really seem to work....

I started with faster casting ele proli and fb in a +1 fire gems wand at the same time and it was ok......

Not great but ok (i dont like firestorm at all and it was better aoe but much worse vs bosses)

But i feel like ele prolif is kinda wasted with that low amount of crit....


Ps. start using orb of storms vs "hard" bosses for the ele equi prog.

How does ele proli work if I don't have ignite support?

EDIT: Also, how do I get 3 curses on? I'm still a beginner, and the build doesn't seem to explain that.

Yeah I'm wondering this too. I don't really understand what gems exactly I should use.
Like if I only have a 4 link at the moment, what gems for flame blast? Or do I
need the 5 link for it to work?

EDIT: How important is a ele dmg sceptre for flameblast? I've only been using wands so far...

The main dmg of this build is burning dmg, ele dmg/fire dmg boost both initial hit and burning dmg. The spell dmg only boost the initial hit.

How does elemental overload and controlled destruction work?

Why take Fangs of the Viper for increased Chaos Damage, isn't that pointless and a waste of points? Or where is the chaos dmg coming from? ... Or are the tree's messed up because of the new patch?

This one you are more active while playing. Totems is mostly running in circles.
Also totem build don't use resistance curses. So you lose out on -40 to 50 res on enemies. I don't know how much loss that is.
Go totem if you want a "safer" experience.

Damage wise totem will lose out. If it really matters is up to you.

For mapping: Flameblast- chance to ignite - increased AOE - fire penertration - controlled destruction. If you haven't got the Proliferation Asendency (need to finish Cruel Lab), then you MUST use Elemental Prolifertion in your link no matter you are in 3 link or 5 link.

Thx a lot for your answer maybe state that a little bit better in your first post so its easier to understand for stupid ppl like me :).

Sorry about that it actually makes sense now with realising there is the ascendancy which give proliferation.......(just saw it myself 10sec before i wrote yours :/)...sorry i am tired and since i never played fb bevor it was a lot of information to learn from one big post :)



Ps. only 2 things you could do is 1. set your profile too public and 2. maybe name the ascendancys with the right name.....I tried to google them and was kinda hard to find which you mean.

You need chance to ignite for a decent aoe.....otherwise your ele prolif is wasted.
